  1. I agree with you however rather than completely removing red dots we could put in a battlefield style system where you have to spot the enemy for them to appear on the minimap, in my mind this would enhance squad play and adding more depth to battles.
    Different levels of map detail would also be very nice.
  2. Please tell us there will NOT be a way to easily track the enemy..... ie red dots on minimaps, red name tags over enemy players heads, xray vision showing enemies through buildings 3 blocks away.

    Players should have to rely on skill and cunning, looking and listening for the enemy, communicating with team mates, versus being spoon fed enemy locations via cheesy minimaps dots, xray vision, red name tags over enemy heads.

    As far as squad mates, since there's going to be friendly fire, which I'm assuming is there for immersion, will friendly players name tags "fade out" in combat areas? Or will it be distance based? ie you can only see friendly name tags 10 feet or less? Kind of defeats the whole purpose of having friendly fire and the fog of war, if you can positively ID all friendly players 200-500 meters away because they have ridiculous blue/green name tags floating over their heads.

    It's not very immersive seeing a sea of green/blue name tags over all your team mates as well as a sea of red name tags for all the enemy players.

    For enemies, I don't think there will be permanent things over their head that would help you spot them by default. Nametags might show if we feel we need some info displayed while aiming on them. Same thing can be said about friendly nametags or indicators - we need to still define what is needed. Wargears might add information though (i.e. Bionic Eye, Range Finder, etc.). Immersion-wise, we still want to add basic indicators that could be found inside a Space Marine helmet for example.

  5. Before I grind through 10 pages of posts, I'm going to lazily ask: Do we yet know if this is POV or over the shoulder (or whichever you want)?

    Over the shoulder, third-person action. Some weapons, like sniper rifles, will probably go in 1st person view.

  8. I'd like to see varying levels of auto-UID based on play choice. Of course, deciding which element fits into which category.. But it would still be cool to be able to have pre-set HUD elements based on one's play-style or particular current toon. i.e., a tactical toon would need more info than straight melee toon.

    I think it should automatically remove your HUD if you choose to go about without a helmet, unless you have a bionic eye.
