THAT IS A MUST HAVE! I have seen many MMO games flop in team work and coordination because the only mode of communication was a chat box. Most gamers don't even have the 3rd party speech software like Team Speak, Mumble or Ventrillo. I have been playing the MMO FPS game Planet Side 2 and what makes it stand out to me is the in game Communication system. The chat is clear, organized, easy to use and is just AWESOME! I have held conversations in a proximity chat (that's a chat to nearby users) with other players for extended periods, just shooting the breeze. I've held tactical commands with my squad and platoon, issuing orders, warnings, directions and tank column formations. I've even discussed battle plans and strategies with the high ranking generals of the game. Issuing the same orders and plans to my platoon/squad. It has even allowed me too keep in touch with my Outfit (That's equivalent to a guild or clan). To the Developers of Eternal Crusade, I respectfully ask...IN ORDER FOR THIS GAME TO SURVIVE IT MUST HAVE A VOICE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM! I cannot stress that enough. Many a great MMO game has fallen due to lack of communication with the party members. Most of the players won't touch the 3rd party voice software because they don't trust it or can't afford the servers. But for whatever reason, a lack of voice communication would kill the game in my opinion. If I'm in the heat of combat, I need to deliver clear and precise orders to my team. I can't do that by quick types at the key board. That and teh sound of another persons voice shows me that the person is...well a person. They know me and I know them. We can't meet face to face in real life, but at least we can communicate by our mics. Vocal communications IS ESSENTIAL for human interactivity. It's why we have Cell Phones, Skype, Radio, TV, and so on. Without human vocal communication, there's nothing but ruin. So again I respectfully and politely ask that the Developers, please create an in game voice communication for the game. I believe, truly, that it will help the game and bring players closer together as a community. Likewise help establish new bonds of friendship and brotherhood. ~Thank you.
+1 Absolutely essential in any team-based game. I think it'd be hilarious if there was some way to proximity chat with the opposition although I know too many people wouldn't be able to handle the banter.
I totally agree with this proposition. Chat system is a must have for a game like this. Having the communication system integrated in the game would definitly be an assets foor it.
I'm glad that so many others are into the idea as well. Like you I hope and love the idea of a proximity chat of just hearing Orks crying their WAAAGH!!! Or Chaos crying: BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! Or even an Imperial: FOR THE EMPEROR! Cause lets be honest, we've all ready the books. We've heard the audio dramas. We've seen the movie. WE WANT A PIECE OF THAT ACTION!
