I'd still use a nerfed POWER FIST. There's just something about getting kills with a 'balanced' weapon that everyone wanted nerfed that gives joy to my little black heart.
I can kill one person then I overheat. MY GOD OP! (Jokes its probably got just enough to take down the armour of a second person...) And if your dying to a Shuriken pistol. Rethink your life decisions.
The Logic that anti tank shouldn't be good vs Infantry. This is a good example.... Poor Las :\ Please don't say, "he shouldn't be alone"
Would you use a FGM-148 Javelin against infantry? Would you use a Barret M82 against infantry? Would you use an antitank mine against infantry? All anti-vehicle weapons, all bad against infantry. Sure they'll pretty much guarantee a kill, but I'm certain you'd prefer a Hydra HE rocket pod, a FN Minimi, or antipersonnel mines instead if you're facing infantry.
So you are saying a sniper rifle is bad agains't infantry...because it has AP rounds...? And to kill infantry better i should use Hydra rockets? even though rockets are known anti tank weapons. We are referring here to melee weapons, in a futuristic fictional world. It's like saying, if i have a plasma cutter, that's great vs tanks...i shouldn't cut infantry with it 1 on 1... This whole complaint about squad wiping with power fist, is only because of JPAS. If you take a GA/slugga/Traitor, with a fist...he won't kill any squad...he'll probably be shot down after killing the first guy. ( what's OP about that?) There's at least 3 distinct things here: -Power fist alone beeing OP ( It's not, play regularly with and against fists, melee and ranged, and find no problem against it, specially not in any OP way) - Power Klaw needing improvement ( Yes it does, for a long time now) - JPA with power fist are a bit too harsh ( Yes they are )
The M82 is not a sniper rifle. It is an anti-materiel rifle. A sniper rifle with antipersonnel rounds is good against infantry. A bolt action ANTI-MATERIEL RIFLE, designed to pierce through engine blocks and disable vehicles, is unwieldy and complete overkill. You're going to have a bad time fighting infantry with one when you're at close range, and not just because of how hard it is to aim with an unbraced rifle that weighs 30 pounds. While it is used by some forces throughout the world as an anti-personnel weapon due to its ability to pierce walls, none of the weapons we have in game can shoot through walls so that's a moot point. Rockets are not anti-tank weapons, missiles are. You don't use a Hydra 70 against a tank because high explosives will barely scratch a tank's paint. But it will decimate infantry and the building they're hiding in. If you're trying to face down infantry armed with swords using a plasma cutter, you're probably going to get your arm chopped off trying to hit them with it. It's the same reason why you don't make an army of lascannon devastators when you're fighting Tyranids. Sure you'll be killing a hormagaunt with every shot, but when you can only kill as many hormagaunts as you have lascannons every turn, and the hormagaunts outnumber you, you're as good as dead.
Sometimes you just wanna play sneaky and run around donkey punching people off of balconies and roof tops.
