"No, Sir!" Jens Ravenstein replied in loud tone and saluted, desiring to show his discipline and respect.
Alright then, the general decided and nodded to his aide, "Eljor, fetch us the signal beacon." Corporal Eljor saluted and disappeared behind the group, leaving through the door in search for the signal beacon. "Now then, believe it or not," General Valfjar said and gestured with his hands, "The signal beacon is the most important aspect of this mission. Why? As I said, the Mechanicus will be arriving here withing two weeks, and they will drop the colonists on the planet. But, there's a catch! The colonists will only arrive if the signal beacon has been activated - meaning, if you have not found a base camp location and activated the beacon, the ship will ignore you and leave, thus you will be stuck on that planet for the rest of your days." He heard the door open as Eljor stepped inside, carrying a grey metal box with him, "Here you go, a genuine signal beacon," he dodged between the chairs and dropped the box onto the table, "Safe and sound.. Only a few scratches here and there." The aide took a position next to the general, holding his chin high. The general turned the box so that the group could see it clearly. It was about twenty centimeters wide and nearly thirty tall. On one of its sides was a console, filled with buttons of all shape and size. "The beacon," Valfjar repeated, "Extremely fragile and extremely important. When activated a meter tall antenna will rise from it and start broadcasting a signal. Works on voice recognition, and has a pass-key which needs to be spoken by one particular person." He looked at the group again, "Who's willing carry it and its pass-key?"
OOC: I see it breaking and we spend 1 year trying to fix it before eventually starving or getting killed by the wildlife ^.^
"May I?" Eljor asked and grabbed the beacon with one hand, raising it to his head level, "About five kilograms, so not too much, I hope." OOC: Don't worry, you got an Enginseer with you ^^
"No matter who will carry it, I will defend it with my life and it's bearer as well! Just like I defended Jandra to the end!" Jens added, his voice being strong, disciplined, filled with respect and honour.
General Valfjar listened to the youngster, pride filling his chest, "With that attitude you will survive anything this planet throws at you!"
"Thank you sir! I intend to do so, sir!" He saluted, a smile of pride from such comment overcame the soldier.
Lucius looked around at the guardsmen, the proud one...the commissar. He admired most of them, especially Jens. His dedication was admirable. Lucius was unsure of what everyone thought of a catachan being there though. They are all from such easy planets, he thought.
