Imperial Guard - Colony Rp, Ooc/planning

    Imperial Document
    -Colonization initiative-
    A small experienced group of Imperial Guardsmen has been decided to be sent to a yet uncolonized world residing within the Ultima Segmentum. The planet is simply know as Ultima-P422 and it is completely unexplored, except for some data gained from orbit – Terra like gravity, and rather peaceful climate conditions which can be seen on several Agricultural worlds. This is where the Imperial group, or the scouting force if you wish to call it so, steps in.

    Their primary task will be to find a suitable base camp location, secure and mark it with a signal beacon – Imperial settlers will be rallying to its location later on for colonisation purposes.

    Secondary tasks will include the scouting of possible native population, identifying dangerous animals/flora, securing nearby land viable for farming, and most importantly; marking of landmarks.

    Equipment for this mission will be optimal, though finite. The main purpose of the mission is to prepare the planet for Imperial colonisation, so identifying local fruits and animals which can be used as food will be necessary.

    Scouting force strength;
    • Several experienced Imperial Guardsman
    • The Guardsmen should have varying skills
    • After the Signal Beacon has been placed, the Force will be capable of receiving reinforcements

    • Guardsman
    • Sniper
    • Field-Medic
    • Sergeant(1)
    • Cadet Commissar

    • Las Pistol
    • Long Las (Sniper)

    • Field Axe
    • Military Spade
    • Vox communication device
    • Grenades
    • Personal backpack
      • 14 packs of dry rations/lasts for 2 weeks if rationed correctly
      • 3 Lasgun/pistol power packs (Rechargable)
      • 3 Hotshot Laser Power Packs (In addition to the normal power packs, only if a Sniper)
      • Spare Clothing
      • Hygienic tools
      • Fire making tools
      • Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer
      • Flashlight/Torch
      • Respirator Mask
      • Water Quality tester
      • Medipac
        • Standard swaps
        • Salt tablets
        • Water purifying tablets
        • Food supplement tablets
        • Gauze/bandages(blessed)
        • Vein clamps (sterilized)
        • Lotion of embalm
        • Phials of morphine
        • Sterilizing fluid of cleansing
        • Cleansed surgical canister
        • Synth-skin canister
        • Sanctioned insect repellent.
      • Personal accessories (5 items Maximum)
    An upgrade system will be implemented too, in short - you will be able to upgrade your class after a while. First upgrade would happen after a successful Signal Beacon placement, alongside with some beneficial new traits for you :)

    Nearly forgot to mention about the Character Creation system, after consulting with a friend of mine and Bjorn, it will be done in Urian style for being simple and yet so effective. NOTICE: The Traits will be optional, but do not be alarmed for you will be getting yourself some nice traits as you progress!

    And now that you have read it you are most likely wondering what the bloody hell is going on. Simple, I wish to make a RP with a medium nudge towards survival.
    Why do I want to make something like that? Fino made a survival based RP at one point, which I enjoyed greatly - though short it was. Now I wish to give GM'ing a try and decided to start it with this.
    Would you people be interested in it? If so, might I ask you to look at that thing above once again and tell me what you think?
    What could/should I change to make this thing work?
    And the regiment question; what regiment should the force be? One particular regiment or individuals from several regiments?

    I'll be keeping a close eye on this tomorrow :)

    kinda odd maybe indivudals from differnt regiments. That and it seems there might be food and water mechinics is this so

    Correct on that assumption! You will ration your own food and water, though I might make some slight suggestions if your character is getting.. Hmm.. Hungry.

    I'm currently at school so posting is mildly said difficult, but will try to keep on posting :)

    I have been thinking. The current class options are quite stale at the moment, and thus I though about adding a Heavy Weapons specialist. Opinion? And other things to add? :)

    I think the food and water mechanics is a bit too hardcore, I mean awesome for survival setting... But too much I think. I mean if we just have to make sure to have like 1 water and 1 food portion per each member at end of the day - okay.

    But I don't want to be suddenly 'your character is hungry and you are in middle of combat and therefor you cannot fight efficiently.' ^^

    Yush, to be honest I don't want to be a scumbag and do something like "Your character is extremely hungry and therefore cannot fight, additionally there are several hungry animals at your tail which will eat you if you stop running. You will run out of strength soon."

    It is more or less like you said, ensuring you have enough to eat and drink at the end of the day :)

    If it's really just that then it would be cool.... Kinda playing colony-master WH40k .... Funny enough I had a game design idea for that once xD Just with Tau instead of IG.
