Are these the same Iron Warriors whose entire empire was demolished in record time after a crushing defeat at Terra, despite having vastly superior numbers and weapons, who were quick to flee because another legion lost their primarch (this also settled who deserves the title of siege masters)? The same Iron Warriors who failed their mission at Phall despite deploying their entire fleet against a smaller, crippled IF fleet, with perfect intel AND the help of a warpstorm? Last time I checked Perturabo failed to destroy the fleet AND had been humiliated when 54 terminators tore apart his ship's garrison and faced him in melee. Nonsense, it settled nothing. The walls of the Palace of Terra were breached and stormed when the Vengeful Spirit was boarded. That action was a last ditch, desperate attempt to turn the tide of the battle by the Emperor which, although successful, was a Pyrrhic victory that the Imperium has never really recovered from. You can hardly credit victory on Terra purely to the Imperial Fists' defensive actions when the breach ultimately led to the Emperor risking (and effectively losing) his life as there were no other choices left. Losing the Warmaster was a bit more devastating than "Whoops, Primarch down", but yes, these are the same Iron Warriors that retreated with the other legions once Horus had fallen and the Sons of Horus followed his dying orders to withdraw. And yes, it's the same Iron Warriors who were outsmarted at Phall. I've never claimed they were perfect. But they're also the same Iron Warriors that came within a whisker of completely destroying the Imperial Fists in the Iron Cage. The Fists haven't managed to achieve the same in reverse, and Perturabo is still alive and seething with fury whereas Dorn...well, at least you managed to recover a hand. Definitely better than nothing!
I think the best way to end this argument is to join hands and come join the Night Lords. We don't discriminate based on who's father's can beat up who's father. Everyone's father is an ass and a failure in our eyes.
Let these arguments and how often this thread gets of subject be a testament to the might of Dorn. when his name or that of his sons is mentioned the forces of chaos, mutant, xenos, heretics and even loyalist try to keep the presence from being made.
