Recently, my partner got access to Eternal Crusade for the first time, making use of the Free-to-Play option from the newsletter. After he played it, I eventually asked him how he felt about it. To my surprise, he said it has its problems, but he liked it. Some things I read today on this forum got me thinking. It made me re-evaluate how I've been thinking about the game. And... I just realized about two minutes ago that I've been wrong to constantly talk about this game like it's doomed. When I play it, it really is enjoyable. It's not something I'd want to sit down and play for hours on end, but when I do want to play it, it's fun. And I'm sorry for being such an asshole for so many months. :: hugs for Eternal Crusade's development team :: I was wrong.
If my boyfriend ever dusts the game off and plays again he'll most likely play Orks. And I mostly play Orks. No fights in our future. Negativity I see directed at the game comes in two flavors I think, people just jumping on the bandwagon and complaining about whatever the hot topic complaint is, or people who are legitimate fans of the 40k franchise who are unhappy with how it is/how it's going. I'd say I fall into the latter (been playing 40k since 3rd Edition, first army was Dark Angels), but I'm not really that negative about the game as a whole, just the balance issues. Despite that, still having fun with it. And I've had a few days this past week where I've sat here all day crusading away.
You weren't wrong. EC has been a pit of salty despair for anyone who had hopes for it at one point or another(Captain Pack reporting in). It isn't entirely unenjoyable in small doses, but its lacking significantly in too many areas for it to be called good.

The game isn't as bad as many people shittalk it to be. But it could be so much better, so much more, and some game-desing descisions (balance etc.) are more then questionable. That's what keeps so many people screaming on the fences. But all in all, at least for me there is a reason why i log in from time to time and drop some matches
Dude they just went out to get some coffee and doughnut Also ya EC ain't a great or good game but it ain't a steaming pile of X people in steam and fourms sometimes (ok a good number of times) seem to love to keep insistiting it is, it's a meh game that is going to take a long while before it starts becoming good
my son picked this up on the F2P version then i had to try and help him out with loadouts general tactics etc etc at first he was ooooo aaaahhh shiny after a few games it turned into whatttt hooow whhhy? and tbh he hasnt played it much since ... so player retention is a major flaw with this game a MAJOR flaw. If EC cannot grab a player in the first few games and hook them then its not going to work well if at all, my own playtime has dropped quite a bit too used to main sorc, tried lsms and orks to no fun and no fun = me turning the game off, i can only assume that has happened to many of the F2P players already.
