This isn't a shit post as much as it's a fact post. Also I say this a few times but this isn't directed at everyone just one special snow flake who I seemed to have triggered by calling out his shenanigans after a match and the game ended mid sentence and I know they come to the forums. So here goes! Stalker bolter isn't as op as the auto cannon! It's a very funny argument and honestly it depends on the range... Yea point blank a auto cannon is going to blast you to fucking bits.... mid range + the stalker has a much higher advantage. Let me elaborate on this for those who do not look at the stats. Auto cannon within 12.5 meters is 133 damage... soon as it hits the 13 meter point though the damage drops off to 97 up to 100 meters. As a havoc you never want someone within 15 meters of you which isn't always the case but in the current meta that's usually what happens. The "pin point accuracy" I keep seeing people go ape shit about I really feel like I don't need to point out the fact that you must BRACE to get the pin point accuracy on the first shot and the recovery time of the aim due to the nerf is fairly high now. The ROF is higher at 173 but I shouldn't need to point out that as you fire the accuracy gets worse and worse due to the immense spread of the weapon. Anyway moving on. The stalker bolter on the other hand is 125 damage up to 65 meters and drops down to around 107 *someone correct me to lazy to make a new loyalist right now* with 100 rof and pin point accuracy and very quick shot recovery. The weapon can be used close quarters but honestly it isn't a good idea due to the lower rof also it has a 2.5x multiplier on head shot vs the 2x that the auto cannon has. You also need to realize that if someone gets the jump on you while you have a stalker bolter you have a knife+pistol and can defend yourself while the havoc with the auto cannon is as good as dead due to the delay on firing even if they land a dbash they can't fire to take down the melee. Here's my point close range = auto cannon... mid-long range = stalker cannon. They are both auto cannons as far as the retarded damage goes the reason the stalker is being complained about currently is the game meta shifted from close range *aka auto cannon territory* to mid-long range which is where the stalker shines. Well that and the fact the stalker does around 295 damage on head shot *this is after armor might I add* while the auto cannon only does around 194 at long range which is roughly 170-175 after toughness and 266 damage within 12.5 meters *around 240ish depending on toughness I'm going by 120-130 toughness targets* To those who are wondering the point of the post this is to a special someone who will remain nameless because I would rather not name and shame to get in trouble and I just wanna spell it out to him. TL;DR This post is for someone that I can't name. Stalker bolter = mid-long range auto cannon with way less damage drop off and a passive 2.5x multiplier on head shot with fast recoil revoery Auto cannon = short range high damage with higher rof but huge recoil recovery only "okay" at long range if you fire once per 3 seconds
Btw you can't peek a boo an auto cannon. However you can easily peek a boo a stalker for easy mid/shortish range kills. Long range it has no tracer so thats a really big deal. You can't even take time to look for them its get hit and jump away or die. Also servo skull plus stalker is just nuts at short range.
Confirmed last stream that the scope is going to be a toggle in the future. AKA they wont have to use the scope in the future if they don't want. And yea Rage I didn't say every little thing the stalker can do because logic isn't exactly something the users care to hear. The auto has plenty of weaknesses and the only weakness I've found with the stalker is that it's only sub par short range.. It keeps its damage though so if you're good at hip fire you should be fine in most cases especially if you land a head shot.
Imo it works very much like the halo sniper of old sans the insta death head shot on all. I've seen several players master this thing for all ranges and quite honestly I have no idea how I would beat these guys without a couple of other helpers. One of even had a pocket apo and got into our back lines at Zedeck and we absolutely could not dislodge him. Needless to say we lost B and C points insanely fast. Imo the servo skull really needs to be looked at before the stalker hut the stalker is a close second. Also toggle scopes....awesome can't wait for that .
The thing is... when they change the scopes or add the ability to disable them (like they mentioned on the last twitch) they will have to change the stalker again or it will be op as fuck in cqc. so why complain about it now when it will certainly get changed anyway. The only reason the stalker isnt used by everyone is the crappy scope on it.
I assume you mean bolter. Still pointless on shootas and not an option for eldar beyond a single rtc gun. Personally I still won't be using a scope for range. I need my periferals too much and just don't care about plinking guy at A when I'm at B. I'll let him walk his happy ass into my favored kill zone tyvm!
