"Oh honestly, listen to both of you." Ruby rolled her eyes. "Frank. Vertibirds have a very safe track record, and as someone here," she poked Pool lightly on his shoulder, but not his aiming arm, "said, we have two able gunners to defend us. Don't worry."

With this she offered round a small bag of boiled sweets, in case anyone's ears were popping.

"What? Frank asked about the safety of the Vertibird, they're safe unless you shoot them enough. We are flying you know so that's gotta count for something..." Pool let it hang for a second "Unless we run out of fuel then we might start to fall. I'm sure this was properly fuelled up before we set off though..."

Pool shook his head at the bag of sweets offered "Gotta keep my eyes of the prize." Pool turned his eyes back to the outside for anything that'd be stupid enough to poke it's head up when he was in command of a really big gun.
  3. Arthor had been sitting quietly the entire time going through his bag counting the land mines his had along with his repair tools and ammo and generally just keeping himself busy as they flew over the wasteland. He didn't really want to get involved with Pool scaring the new guy and he definitely didn't want to see him gun down raiders so he was just sitting quietly looking through his things.
  4. Bark laid on the floor of the giant metal box, panting happily and without a care in the world. His new chew toy was taken away from him, but he wasn't too upset about it. It wasn't the greatest of chew toys in his mind anyway. He looked around the rather crowded metal box, his facial expression as blank and clueless as it has been this day. Bark's expression only changed as he looked at the group's prisoner(?). Still dressed in enemy attire, and yet his previous actions would have been considered "patriotic" to Bark's parameters. This undoubtedly confused the cyber hound, as his limited programming (and limited cognitive abilities) wasn't able to comprehend the enigma that was this prisoner(?). As uncomfortable as Bark seemed to be around the man, he wasn't particularly hostile toward the confusing entity.
  5. Gordon entered into the Vertibird quietly enough. The shut in researcher specialist had never actually ridden in one before.
'I wonder if everyone really looks like ants from the air? It's of little comfort when one remembers that flying is the easy part. It's landings that really matter.'
Strapped in, eyes wide as they ascend from the Tower into the open daylight. Raising his hand to block out the direct sunlight from his eyes. However, the heat was familiar. After blinking enough to adjust, Gordon dared a peek out of the open access ports nearest him.
Before him he witnessed might of the Enclave bared. Fire and enemy bodies littered the battlefield, yet still the raiders pressed on. As if driven by madness or blind courage, they continued to attack the lines of their perimeter in waves. Crashing aginst the entrenched Soldiers of United States. They were out gunned, but numbers were on their side for what it was worth.
"It's almost admirable. All these wastelanders armed with crude or salvaged weapons and in their colorful outfits of scraps and leather. Even with the losses they've suffered, they still press on. I suppose the only reason we haven't dropped troops behind them is because of those damn rocket launchers them seem to possess in endless supply. Otherwise this horseplay would have been long over and done with. They can't honestly expect to find victory here against the Enclave?"
Gordon said with some concern. Raiders were hardened warriors true enough, but they weren't likely to waste too many of their own in one desperate attack.
'It does keep us occupied, that's for sure.'
"They'll be plenty of time to decipher the enemy's attack strategies after our mission is accomplished. Sergeant @DaKaptin , what's our first objective after we land? Search for clues or anything of value or head straight to the location of Gamma company? The longer we wait to collect them, the fewer our chances of rescuing them becomes. We could split up into two team, we'd cover more ground and if need be send one team off ahead to scout the location. What do the rest of you think?" Gordon suggested to the rest of Delta Squad.

Hester had strapped in the Vertibirds with the others silent as she made calculations and thoughts in her mind of the possibilities of the missing team they would be going after as she now looked down at the battlefield between the enclave and the waste landers she was almost confused on why the waste landers would so easily throw their lives.away against a superiorly armed and trained force. "Man why do you think they would so easily throw away there lives?" Hester asked out loud loolking across the field as they flew.

"I'm not really a fan of our splitting up if we don't need to," Ruby said, eyeing the carnage below with a more troubled expression. It really did seem to be one hell of a fight down there. Much more than she'd expected from her initial glance. "But you're right, we do need to get there as soon as we can."

"Pool. South. Knock it off. Would take more that a lucky shot to take this piece of military hardware down. If you're gonna use those guns than keep focused on keeping this bird in the sky. Over." Said the Sergeant.
Jenkins had listened to the squad with amusement. While it was a hot zone today, the fighting was localized to the South East of the Tower fortifications. In the Sergeants mind, this was a perfect opportunity for the Enclave to test their metal and strengthen their unity as a nation.
'Well, more of a city state really.' Jenkins thought to himself darkly. The news of Captain Kimberly and her squad going missing had hit him harder than he let on. Jenkins had lost a man on his first away mission, but that was small when compared to loosing an entire squad. Looking over his Delta Squad, Jenkins swears to bring them home safely. At any cost.

The Sergenat notices Bark's unsease and followed his eyes. 'This might help.'
"B4RK, update. B.OW. is now registered as [Enemy Defector]. He's under military protection and fights along side us. Confirm designation." Jenkins says with a nod to Frank. "I hope Bark hasn't been too much trouble for you. He's very... loyal to his programming and thus America. Isn't that right B4RK? Over."
The science members Gordon and Hester were of course analyzing everything they saw. Trying to find answers to their questions, true scientists.
"More than likely, this attack is based on fear. Seeing us as an unknown force stepping in on their territory and imposing our rule on those who stay. However, with the abduction of Gamma Squad it takes a shift. An attack of this scale has the whole Enclave's eyes upon it and away from searching for Gamma. I think the general is right, that the two are connected, but not because they have betrayed us. It takes time to break someone a strong person in interrogation. But eventually, everyone breaks. Whoever is commanding these raiders to die, has Gamma Squad, I'm sure of it. As for splitting up, that is a negative Fley. We're going into too many unknowns and without access to back up. We watch each others back and stick close, unless circumstances change. Understood, Soldier?"

    [responses of acknowledgment]

No sooner had the Sergeant finished his squad address, an armored buggies charged to life. Following close behind the Vertibird from the road. Raiders hung mounted atop the vehicle, holding smaller arms and never let Delta Squad our of their sight. Before anyone had time to comment of them, the warning lights and signal went off. Sawcheck screaming over the comm radio, "We've got incoming! Hold on tight, it's about to get bumpy!"
The vertibird took a sudden sharp drive, just avoiding a rocket aimed for it's nose. Before long, the sound of rockets launching filled the air. One after another, first one, then two, and finally three. Three rockets fired from three different sky scrapper ruins that still towered over the area.
This forced Sawcheck to fly lower and faster, all the while the buggy kept up with them.Only now they were in range and started shooting at the Vertibird in earnest.
Jenkins held on for dear life, roaring over the comm. "Pool, South, lay down some cover fire on those buildings. Stay focused! The rest of Delta Squad, see what you can do about that buggy tailing us. Stay calm! Someone get back Bark. Stay! And Sawcheck, get us out of here!"
"What do you think I'm trying to do?! I can't maneuver this low and those damn racketeers seem to have eyes on me no matter where I go! They've boxed us in!" For emphasis, a rocket explodes on the right of them and forces Sawcheck to make a sudden left. This would repeat, always left.
[Raiders!: Pool and Jace must focus on the three rocket launchers. The more you attack them, the less likely they are to hit the Vertibird. Too many hits and it explodes. The Buggy is fast, so it's lightly armored. The Raiders inside are shooting with pipe weapons and are aiming for those inside the Vertibird.
    Enemies to eliminate:
    - 3 rocket launchers (mini-gunners and those with rifles are within range)(Requires two attacks from different players or a minigun to eliminate.)(Stationary Target)
    - 1 lightly armored buggy (1 driver, 3 gunners)(Requires four attacker from different players to
    eliminate or two miniguns)(Moving target)
    Good luck!]

Meanwhile, in the nearby ruins of Franklin Park. A lone figure moving through the streets, listening to the radio as he scavenged and making his way toward the city proper.
[Enclave Radio: For all those cats and kitties out there, this is Bad Franklin. Coming to you live from the safety of Enclave Tower. We've got an update for you all from the front lines. The proverbial hornets nest has been kicked and the stingers have venom. Enemy forces continue to assault the force fields and our men and women in dark green are treating them to the bug zapper. A suit of power armor had to be abandoned when a lucky shot struck its power core. A few injuries have been reported, but no casualties. In other news, a mess hall riot left three hospitalized and a dozen with minor injuries. I know you're excited to fight military but save it for the battlefield. There's plenty to go around and remember the wonderful world you're fighting for.

When suddenly, he hears the sound of a nearby explosion. It was a familiar sound, it had rung out across the city for most of the morning. Only now it was close, and only getting closer. Running ahead, Acquisition specialist Martin Fief would see an Enclave Vertibird under heavy fire.

Pool grunted in acknowledgement at Sarge's orders of stopping the talk about the Vertibird's durability.

Only when the Vertibird start shaking around from its manoeuvres did Pool feel his thoughts were justified, "Told you they could take us apart."

With that Pool targeted the closest builder that the Rocket wielding Raiders were using.
"About time we got some action."

With that Pool's minigun started glowing red with his minigun spraying rounds accurately at a Raider who chose to revel their self to a fully loaded Vertibird, Pool's training with Heavy Weapons made the rounds fall much more accurately than someone who'd not been trained in the use of such weaponry.

Round upon round of 5mm casings fell upon both the Vertibird and the ground below, leaving smoking trails behind them.

The Heavy Gunner perk would work here right?
  10. Bark was honestly very confused at this point. He didn't have anything programmed into him to recognize enemy defectors from potential hostiles. His lazy programming only had him identify enemies as hostile targets that would soon be eliminated. So having a previously identified hostile go from prisoner to a military protected target took a lot of processing on the Cyberdog's part to understand, and accept this new data into his friend/foe identification parameters. He still wouldn't fully understand anyways, but atleast he'll try. He looked toward the prisoner(?)/enemy defector(?!?) blankly, the translator barking out [UPDATING TARGET IDENTIFICATION]. [UPDATING] [UPDATING] [UPDATING] the translator continued on as Bark laid there staring blankly at nothing as he began processing the new data.

And then things started exploding around them. Things tended to explode around Bark, not that the cyber hound would have noticed or could have began comprehending why. However, Bark was not going to let that deter him from his current task. Not that the dog had much choice in the matter, the identification update took a majority of the Cyberdog's processing power any way. Which probably was a blessing on Delta's part, otherwise he just might have lept from the Vertibird to go engage active hostile targets.
