[OOC Just got to my alerts and here this one is! :O Sorry for the holdup guys!] Nurse Ruby Lee was not really cut out for this. Or rather, her armour wasn't cut out for her. She had been issued armour, which was made to the standard Enclave pattern for a nominal six foot male figure. That was great for a six foot male, less so for her diminutive five foot and also, not-male body. After some attempts at padding and strapping and other not-alterations it had been reluctantly agreed, even for Delta Squad, that it would be necessary to actually try to alter Ruby's armour to fit. But she was with Delta Squad, so the results weren't of the best and might one day reach the dizzy heights of "half-arsed". Ruby was just happy that she no longer tripped over her flak trousers and wasn't expected to stand up to pee. She'd suited up and taken her field case of medical equipment down from its shelf where it always stood ready. Ruby checked it every night before going to sleep. She conscientiously practiced her gun drills, even though she had very little idea about firing a weapon in anger, and took every opportunity to use her medical knowledge for the benefit of the Tower. She felt that she owed it to the legacy of Mr. Warbucks himself. Without him, there'd have been no Grandma Lee and no Ruby herself. So though she wanted - and tried - to aim higher than Delta Squad, she'd determined that she was going to be the best darn Delta Squader there was. Taking a slight detour to go and collect extra field meds from a storehouse on the way to her meeting, Ruby tried to run to make up the time, which resulted in her arriving out of breath and slightly late. She nearly tripped over Bark as he bowled across the room to chew on something small and oval and suspiciously like a green pineapple, and found her way to a seat without spilling a drop of her tea. So much for sneaking quietly in the back to finish it. She waved to Pool and Jace.
Joseph gather his equipment two 44 magnums with five reloads, two frag grenades and a combat knife and waited back in his chair. He pointed to a rifle a hunting rifle to hone his skills as the marksman he was and waited patiently.
Pool noticed Ruby's attempt to get in quietly and returned the wave with a quick salute. "About time Ruby, the CO is expected to turn up soon. It'd be a shame to not have the full squad here as were given the worst assignment possible. Don't forget to go into the locker and get the ammo you need."
@GobMaw_HellSmasha Jace spat and laughed as B4rk jumped and slobbered on him, "Aw man Bark! What do you eat to make your breath that bad!?" He handed him the jerky and scratched behind his ear when Ruby made her dramatic entrance nearly falling flat on her face. @Jorimel "Graceful as ever Miss Lee." Jace teased his characteristic smile on his face. "What took ya so long? We got us some live ammo to play with!" Excitement was evident in his voice as he stood and picked his laser rifle back up. "Now give me your opinion, Pool says I don't look badass with this get up! What'd you think!" He asked, hope twinkling in his eyes. OOC: No problem Jori, glad your with us! alerts seem to be acting up all over
Arthor went and took 6 boxes of shotgun ammo as well as 5 spare drum magazines for his gun. He then took 10 frag mines and carefully placed them into his pack he probably never will get used to handling explosives. After securing the mines he grabbed one of the boxes and a drum magazine and started to fill it as the others were trying to keep bark from biting on a live grenade. How that dog managed to be made into a cyber hound will always illud me he thought as jace managed to change the dog's mind with a piece of jerky. It was then he noticed Lee was in the room and he gave a wave and continued to load ammo into the magazines.
"I didn't say that Jace, I said that X-01 armour is actually badass. You're just darkening your sight."
"Ammo, sure, yes, thanks," Ruby said, attempting to place her things on a spare seat and reply to two people at the same time. She took a deep breath. "Live ammo? Are you sure you -" She cut off just in time. Delta Squad pride! "You look fine, very prepared. Ready for anything." she beamed approvingly. At least his gear fit. "I'm OK for ammo, thanks, I have my issue here - though I'll take any spare medpacs if there are any."
"All in the locker Ruby, take your required amount and we'll await the CO to tell Sarge to us what to do."
@Keidivh Happily taking the jerky and gobbling up almost as fast as he was given it, Bark barked and happily wagged that tail of his. He licked the man's face again, completely unaware of the question he was given, not caring or just unknowing. He sat back down and looked around absentmindedly at the new arrivals. One of which looked like she almost fell over herself. She looked nice enough though. At least she wasn't yelling at him like many of the angry people there. @Jorimel "HI" the translator produced as he barked at the new arrival, his wagging tail and happy panting prevalent as it has been.
Ruby helped herself to some spare medical gear and sat down with her haul. She made sure that what she had fitted into her field pack without making it too heavy. "Hello boy," she said to Bark, patting the cybermastiff on the head and tickling his ears. He might be a machine, but he was also a dog and a soppy old thing at that. She wished she had a treat to give him.
