Pool realised he really should be focusing on the mission ahead of them and not gallivanting off after what is most likely B4rk malfunctioning in some way. This was his chance to prove Delta was finally useful but who knew when they'd next be let out of the Tower to go on a mission again. Pool practically froze up with the inability to decide, his gut told him to listen to B4rk's instininics but his brain was telling him to accomplish the mission and not do anything foolish that could jeopardise it. He just kept looking at B4rk to see if he'd finally understand what he wanted him to do.
Hace looked at the gold ring for a few seconds, his smile fading. It was a wedding ring. This was a person, someone who had a family, a life. He grasped it his hand for a moment, before sliding it on his index finger. He then listened to Sarge and Pool talk about the muties. He was rather taken aback by Pools view on them. @dx144 "Damn Pool, no need to be so harsh. They had lives, families. We may have to put em down, but outta mercy. It's the least they deserve." He was distracted when Bark and Pool brought their attention to the manhole. "Flowers? The hell is he talking about?" Jace raised his rifle and approached the sewer, hoping he could discern what Bark was talking about.
Snapped out of his locked gaze on B4rk from Jace's comment. "Who ever they were died years ago, now they're nothing but mutie scum than needs to be eradicated. We're here to carry on the mission that was given to us from the Enclave's founders which is to reclaim the United States for true Americans. No taint may remain, these are the taint and the taint must be removed with extreme prejudice. While a mutie still breathes we've failed." "Still enough about discussing this scum." Pool's eyes were locked on a dead ghoul that was still leaking what would pass for it's blood onto the ground. "What should we do with the current situation, Sarge? Ignore this and carry on with the mission?" Pool looked up at Sarge awaiting orders.
@dx144 @TuskatheDaemonKilla @Keidivh "Glad to hear everyone is still in one piece enough to start debating philosophy." The sergeant says with an air of impatience. "It doesn't matter what we think of them individually. When the time comes, we do what's right for the future of this nation. That's decided by the high command and the President. If memory serves, Colonel Autumn didn't think killing everyone was the only way to win. For a nation to be victorious it first needs to become a nation. To have a leader who the people will rally behind, one who can protect and provide for its citizens. Once we have those things, then we can talk politics. But now is not that time. Now is the moving out time! Double time!" Jenkins ordered in a demanding tone over the squad com. @GobMaw_HellSmasha Jenkins watched as Delta squad checked their maps before taking off. All except B4RK who was still going on about imaginary flowers. "Alright Bark, that's enough. I'm sorry there are no flowers, I really am. But we really need to go. We're falling behind schedule and that does not look good for us if we want more missions. I promise you a big treat when we get back to base. Who wants a treat? You want a treat? Come on Bark, to the mission. Please god still have an active locator beacon." Jenkins says more to himself than Bark.
Pool began to move onto the target area with the rest. "Autumn would've have a full blown mutiny if he accepted muties to his command. He'd accept some in extending circumstances no doubt as fodder and possibly some civilians but Ghouls?" Pool couldn't help be have a look of disgust from the word alone. "He'd have shot them all on sight and rightly so."
Joseph cleaned himself up after that attack and continued once the sergeant had no idea where to go he would lead the part to the destination, point out where to avoid things and large creatures.
"Aw come on man, don't be like that!" He nudged him playfully, trying not to start a fight. "There are sane, rational ghouls out there. They're just like people, but with no skin!" He said cheerfully as he prepared to head out. "If I recall it should be a straight shot down this highway. As long as nothing changed it should be clear. What do you think Eagle?"
"FLOWERS. SMELL FLOWERS." Bark repeated again, continuing to bark at the scent of flowers. Bark looked around again, looking for the flowers he was able to smell. He wasn't even sure what a flower actually was, or what would one even look like. But that smell was distinctly one of a flower. Such a thing may have been important, maybe just wanted to smell it some more, who could have known why. He heard the word treat, a word he recognized. "TRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEAT?" the translator squeaked, "FL....OW....EEEEEEERRRRRRR" He was still able to smell the scent of the flower, whether it actually existed or not could have been anybody's guess. "TREAT...TREAT...FLOWER...TREAT...TREAT TREAT." Bark's tail began to wag again. "TREAT!" He turned around and sat, attention bared at the one who said treat as he woofed. "TREAT!" The Sargent got the Cyberdog's attention, at least for the time being.
@GobMaw_HellSmasha Jace smiled lightly at Bark, tossing another piece of jerky to him. "Good boy Bark! You got those flowers good!"
"Not killing everyone and the Enclave accepting ghouls are two very different proposals, Pool. No Ghouls will be accepted any time soon. I suggest you keep those Traditional views for when we're facing down a horde of Super Mutants. Which you won't do if Delta Squad is stuck back on Vault Door duty." Jenkins says with a wary tone. "Besides, after two centuries, there's nothing that hasn't been effected by radiation. Not unless you've been kept on Ice underground for the last two hundred years. What are the chances of that ever happening?" "Shake it off Eagle. We're going to need your impute soon. This map is old and I bet the terrain has changed since these were up dated. Anything besides Ghouls we should be looking out for?" The Sergeant said hoping to keep everyone's mind on the objective. Better to be paranoid than debate Enclave policy. Last thing anyone needs to worry about is a sudden visit from the Peacekeepers for a "chat" about Enclave loyalty. "Don't be so accepting South. Most Ghouls who don't go feral are on borrowed time, killing them is a mercy. Luckily for us, there are plenty of non-Ghouls who would be interested in what the Enclave can provide... Assuming the Congress would be willing to accept new members from the Wasteland. Maybe those from the Vaults?" Jenkins knew that was a slim chance, but there was no denying that the people who carved out a living amomg such dangers in this Wasteland were not to be judged. They who had thick walls, proper radiation shielding, and big guns to keep them safe. [EDITED]
