There was a reason I attached a screenshot from the Eldar codex. Let me type it here because you didn't seem to read it. "A female Aspect, like the banshee of legend, Howling Banshees are fearsome close combat opponents". The fact that in recent years sjw have pushed to have a female version of everything, even space marines, really doesn't change what these classes were intended to be. It doesn't say the scorpions are exclusively male, but it does say that only the strongest Eldar can become one and per the models, even the newer updated ones, all striking scorpions are male. All of them. This isn't like the Dark Eldar where female Eldar can be buff wyches because they are hardcore into drugs and muscle stimulants, bar the singular exception Lelith of course. Take the gender-baiting elsewhere please, and just enjoy 40k for what it is. This isn't tumblr.
Male Banshees already confirmed a long while ago - already said "Okay" by GW. Unless you want to say the IP holder's words don't count.
All Aspects can be either gender. Male Banshees are rare. Female Scorpions/Dragons/Reapers are rare. How many times must we go through this?
They're both "assault classes", but neither is like ShieldBro/old MoN, which is worrying when you consider how powerful and game changing those classes were. I honestly can't see how banshees are going to change things much, unless their scream is OP and supresses whole buildings or something.
Banshees will actually help Scorpions immensely, by suppressing the enemy and making it virtually impossible for them to see the Scorpion sneaking up behind them or their teammates.
Back to the original question in case he got confused with all the arguments going on-the Howling Banshee is a frontline assaulter, the Striking Scorpion is a flanker/sneak/rogue. The HB has a special wargear called Banshee's Mask which tabletop prevents overwatch against a squad, meaning they can charge anything without getting shot. Oh, and fear, which is pretty pointless in a SM heavy meta. But the no overwatch thing is a really big deal, and we're all waiting to see how it works ingame (suppression being the best guess I've seen). As for male/female, http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/howling-banshees.54845/ http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/the-eldar-are-op.54280/page-6#post-1114227 Or any thread invovling HB at some point in fact. It's ridiculous.
The big problem with Scorpions is: 1. They don't have their mandiblasters and I am not sure they will get them before release 2. Striking Scorpions right now in the game aren't that good in Melee. You have around the same capabilitys as a sorcerer +steahlt -psychic powers. Maybe even worse. 3. Scorpions are bad on Attack. The time it takes to sneak up on someone is enourmous, and for a frontal assault they are missing the jetpack/shield/Hp boost. And the payoff from a succesfull sneak is dissapointing. Scorpions are good at defending (capturepoints, not allys), because they can just sit there and backstab the enemy when he starts capping. Defending Allys against enemy Melee, they don't cut it even if you could get 1 suprise attack in. Banshees will help, they fill a different role, but still Scorpions melee has to be improved (and they should get their heavy armor). And maybe if they want, they could give Scorpions the outflank rule, which could translate to an advanced spawnposition. Another thing with Scorpion vs Banshee to keep in mind is that Scorpions have Chainswords and Banshees have Powerswords. So banshees cut better through armor, like right now Mark of Nurgle.
