If Your Sticking To Eldar,

Discussion in 'Eldar' started by FuriousWalnuts, Oct 26, 2013.

  1. And what of when you must work with the other races to survive? It isn't out of the question in lore, what if this is prevalent in game?

Could work but even when say Eldar and Imperium work together both are walking with pistols behind their backs ready to shoot the other.

Well, with the numerical disadvantage, Ifeel like the Eldar will be the most tactical faction in EC. No bullet fests and constant rushing. Things will be planned in advanced, I guess.

    Hm great question actually :3

Personally, first and foremost their lore is what caught me ^^ I love the idea of a powerful civilisation that is on the brink of extinction and only their quick wits, psychic powers and cunning ways save them from annihilation :D That and I love their warfare. Not to mention how they look :3 I love elaborate and detailed armors, face visors, their weapons, god I love the Wraithlords :3 :3

Why I'll stick with them? :3 Simple ^^ They are an enigmatic race, who uses one of my fave combat methods (guerilla warfare :3), loves deception, intrigue, powerful psykers, the good old Divide and Conqure method, ect. Doing all this, without being crazy, mutated, ignorant or simply an idiot ^^; Ok, they are arrogant to boot, but each race has a downside :p
Plus I never liked the idea of the Space Marines... Hell, even their dark brothers, the CSM looks more interesting oO I never like to play human ^^; I see one in the mirror for some years now :p Only human faction I'd play is the Inquisitors ^^ Orks :3 God, I have a soft spot for the green fellas and I always laugh my head off on some of their stuff x)

About your 2nd question: I think this will really play out the Eldar lore. We will need to beat 3x powerful and numerous faction with lesser amount of people, so each will need to know what the hell they are doing with their class plus this will play to our strength, since Eldar is best at hit-and-run combat, fast movement, silent killing and ambush =) We are glass cannons true... but we hit hard and its hard to catch us :p
Hmmm and we will be the factor you wont anticipate ;) ambushing + wiping two parties that are half exhausted in their battle for example will be a classic for us :D
  5. Wondering how the other races with come to accept this, if per say the ambush and annihilate two groups halfway through their fighting works. What if per say, They simply turn on the eldar players and resume their brawl with each other afterwards. How would you react to this.

Eldar are usually seen as stealthy so the Eldar with their speed would have to pull out of an area hide for a bit the enemy start to kill each other again we do some more ambushes. Rinse and repeat I imagine. With the occasional change to make sure people don't catch on.... Something like that I suppose...
  7. There is one more thing that I simply must point out about the Eldar that I love so.

Both the Eldar and the Imperium have a great deal of symbolism attached to their gear. But unlike the Imperium, they do not do this out of ignorance; no, they do it because of their love towards their mythology and general symbolism. Thus giving each and every piece a meaning.

For example, Singing Spear. It makes a buzzing sound that resembles a strange song. As opposed to calling it "Tactical sharp pointy device".

And the Falcon-tank. As much a vehicle made for war as a reference to Faolchú who delivered Anaris to Eldanesh.

In short, they have a great deal of symbolism attached to everything, without going to the retarded levels the Imperium has.

So that is why I was getting hit for calling the Farseer's Sharp Pointy Device a Sharp Pointy Device instead of a Singing Spear. Meh I'm too old to change what its called now though...
