Yes...we're well aware. -_- Quoting myself from the thread for the aforementioned Dark God in the Chaos subforum: We do restrain ourselves to steel our wills from a fate worse than death, but we aren't absolutely stoic either. We still party occasionally. Even Alaitoc has bars, it's just that when worst comes to worst we must be prepared to hold fast against our desires. The Paths are too stringent for some, and so we have Outcasts who chose to reject them. May I remind you that as a servant to Chaos, by definition you are a servant to Chaos? You are a willing pawn who enjoys his place and the rewards granted to him thereto. You are aware that everything you do is in some way in service to the Gods you worship. Our Outcasts chose not to work along the Path and left to serve their own devices, and we welcome them back when they rescind their decision, but tell me, do your Gods offer the same openness to sudden disservice? (EDIT: I was in-character btw, I'm not actually peeved or anything, but re-reading it, I noticed it might sound like it. )
sorry if I was rambling I just don't like people bad mouthing the other races. I find them all to be cool in there own way and people need to respect that so we can all get along till the game comes out then you can scream profanity at your tv or whatever while we kill each other sound good? GOOD!
Yup. We're just having fun talking like Eldar, which inherently requires us to bad mouth the other races. If you are annoyed by the in character chat you may want to ignore a bunch of us! Although I'll do that too, that's just in character, those that flat don't respect the others in their own way are just close-minded, over-zealous or trolling.
There is certainly something to be said for the outcast path, Dream, laugh, go lightly, solitary, free, with eyes that look straight forward, fearless voice. To cock your beaver just the way you choose, for 'yes' or 'no' show fight or turn a rhyme! And then, if glory come by chance your way, to pay no tribute unto runes, none, but keep the merit all your own! I love mysteries, but I am ok when they are revealed properly. Understanding something better, in the hands of a good artist, adds more to the magic of something and can add more questions. And sometimes a bit of a reveal is needed if you have multiple people trying to share a common language and build up on it. Besides, the Eldar came first, we don't get 'humanized', we simply notice what things other races are trying to emulate. Like when my dog looks at me and puts up its paw and I lift my hand - i am sure the dog thinks It understands me better because I acted dog like. Does a dog have Eldar nature?
Eldar won't be my first choice but they are my 2nd one. Orks will be what I roll on opening day and Eldar is where my first alt will be.
Space Marines are all boring Mary Sue characters (IMO) and i like an army of specialists. I never played the tabletop game, only DoW, Space Marine and the infamous Fire Warrior, but i always liked the universe.
Gorging the Dark Powers. I ask none to care simply to care, but wish the Dark Prince to grow no matter than must be allowed.
I've been playing Eldar on the tabletop for a good 15 years now and I'll be playing them in game for sure. Interesting to see what "classes" we get when the game launches.
Edward Snowden had a bizarre pastiche of civilian and government sector experience, but he was both highly intelligent and able to pass background checks without issue. He also lied about his education and his contractor didn't do much background investigation on him. Julian Assange has a similarly chaotic history of incomplete education added to a life spent in internet activism and cryptology and programming. A polar expedition probably has not inconsiderable physical and mental health requirements. Possibly personal health insurance is an issue as well, as well as just having the money to get to wherever selection is taking place. There is adventure and heroics to be found in real life, but not without cost and paperwork and a little luck. The modern world is built on a thousand borders, and limits, and qualifications and certifications and credit checks. To enlist I had to get a waiver for childhood asthma, not that I'd had an episode of that in a decade. I live in the USA. We have "the world's largest open border" with Canada. No one is permitted to just "walk" across that border. So no, there is nothing delusional about thinking the real world is stifling towards being courageous.
what brought me over to the Eldar? research into their lore and culture what will keep me with the Eldar? I have Table Top Eldar and will gladly represent my brethren over the internet
