Given his track record thus far with these books step one would be to destroy the army's previous identity, rip off the Soul Drinkers series, then try to write it as a novel rather than an actual armybook. May I ask what the major changes you would recommend would be? I've spoken with some Sororitas players in the past about their dislike for the last two codices, especially the horrifically badly designed Faith system, but they rarely speak much beyond that.
I think they need plastic models first to see if they even sell at a slightly lower price in addition to having a little more variety in model builds. But then again, if ForgeWorld doesn't even take much of an entrance in them, you can bet GamesWorkshop wouldn't either.
I'm probably gonna get some flakk for this, and I agree that's there's already more than enough Space Marines codices, but I'd absolutely LOVE a Salamanders supplement. Or I could just do with the HH books... The next best thing would be a real Sisters codex, who love their flamers and meltas just as much, if not even more (if you now what I mean ).
I'll actually love to see a Gue'vesa supplement for the Tau empire (with infantery and vehicles of unique design), to make explicit that there exists an alternative to the Imperium or the worshiping Chaos for the human race.
I'd like to see a Word Bearers supplement, although the Orks really do need a new Codex, I hope GW is working on that one. Nids could use a genestealer one, I think that'd be cool. Not to mention that Planetary index Urian was talking about, that sounds absolutly awesome, I'd love someone to make that (wouldn't even need to be a GW thing, it could be fan-made for all I care...hell, if it was fan-made it might actually be better).
Planet Index needs to be GW done because most planets have no information at all or that events in books and Codices are also contradicting with events or position of planets ^^
That's a fair point, although a lot of planets are never even named, or shown in any kind of map, so you could quite easily just, make some up. Of course it would lack the "officialness" of a GW printing, but if someone where to make something like that, and it became popular I'd imagine that GW would want to hop on that to make some extra cash as fast as possible while still maintaing quality. I dislike GW for a number of reasons, but one thing I can't fault them on is their quality (unless Sisters of Battle are included....those "codices" are.....lackluster to say the least)
Also good point by you - But there are a few maps which are quite detailed. My problem truly is to pin-point what happened when and where. I.E. of so many chapters the actual home world is missing. Or the attributes of the Maiden Worlds of the Eldar, etc. etc. But I was just surprised that GW throughout the entire existence of Wh40k NEVER made ANYTHING like a planet index or included anything like it somewhere xDDD I mean for the age of Wh40k I would have expected something earlier (especially with the kind of detail they go into things)
Now that you mention it, it is pretty strange, and I'm sure if someone collected all of the maps and star charts throughout all of 40k they would probably get a pretty complete map of the Galaxy. That is if they can make it past the contradictions of all of the older stuff as compared to the newer lol.
Contradictions? you mean like the fact that when lore talks about Tyranids in general, they are unstoppable and constantly devouring world after world, while when invasions are written, it makes it seem like actual opposition that matches more or less to the Tyranids' forces I don't care if Space Marines are strong! 1000 is not enough to stop an entire fleet tendril!
