  1. So I decided to make a poll and thread where we can list what we think would be the best publisher the developers could go with if they decide to distribute their game though a publisher.

Many publishers have differing policies behind how they distribute games and how much it costs the developers. Also we all have our preferred or favorite publishers.

Maybe yours is on the list, if not, post your favorite below and feel free to vote "other". Also this is a discussion if you think they should attempt to publish the game itself and other things related to publishers.

(Well if this has already been put up, I apologize, did a forum search and saw no threads so far on which publisher you think they should use!)

I don't know enough about these guys.
    All I know is:
    • Never trust EA
    • Sony treat their youtube fans like garbage.
  3. While I've never been on the EA hate band wagon, I do agree with never trust them. Then again I simply say never trust any publisher. Publishers are there to make money and please the stockholders, doesn't matter if it's EA, Activision, Bethesda, ect.

If I had to choose a publisher though, probably Bethesda. They at least have a record of minimal interference.

In theory, they could publish the game themselves

But definitely not EA, Ubisoft, Sony or SEGA!
Besides those four - could be anybody. The main concern is that the publisher shouldn't dictate developers what to do - it's never healthy
Take-Two Interactive and Bethesda seem to get job done

On a personal note, I'd definitely vote Activision. They have some expertise in working with MMOs and they do seem to treat fanbase nice =)

RockStar/Take-two. Why? Because they are used to dealing withthe media and mature games. 40K pretty much has to be mature, so.. they won't be cowed by that rating.

Yes, speaking of Mature rating, that's a good point.
The publisher should share our common Warhammer philosophy

    Going to go with bethesda.

Their gaming line up is pretty good, with Doom, elderscrolls, fallout, all of them are pretty mature or the minimum teen.

  8. I was going to say Bathesda but I know that Valve would be better; ie: going strictly with steam. It might kill retail but it would be better than EA, Activision, and even take two imo.

IGP will ruin the game so fast you won't be able to blink. They're already crippled what could have been a great Mechwarrior game.

SOE makes me want to vomit, so does EA and Activision.

Take-two or Bethesda wouldn't be so bad. Valve might not be horrible either.

EA destroyed Mass Effect 3 and SWTOR, rushed games, I could at least have waited for another year of development for those games. Bioware was not the same with EA controlling them. I'm a swtor-veteran and I will always be hating them for destroying such fine works which could've been alot better, yes I'm blaming them.
