We decided no on another thread. Just for info Tau are voted to be the expansion race SOB maybe after that. And Necrons if they can be implemented after that.
I've always seen the Necrons as the second most requested race in the polls, it's just the discussion of how they'd work as a player controlled race where disagreements arise.
I wrote it wrong, Necrons or SOB. I like both I guess, IMO SOB would be a better pick, because it would appeal to alot of people and stop the whining about having very few women in the game.
The SoB should be added eventually, but we have the looming faction imbalance to consider first. If the Imperium were to pass the 50% mark of total players(especially if they are allied) then we end up with a broken game, where nobody wants to play because either A) they are so outnumbered they can never win or B) everyone else raged quit due to them being so outnumbered that there's few if anyone let to fight.
its obvious that all factions in EC must stand alone, regardless of wether fluff says it happens often or not, they can all be fielded vs on the TT and EC is a PvP game so the whole point would be to fight the other factions
Well I agree with you on that point, all factions should be independent in this game, but there are plenty on these forums who don't and want an Imperium Superfaction regardless of whether it breaks the game or not, because lore. But in either case, IoM factions should be expected to work together more often than not.
If they plan to add more IoM factions, I think it's easy to come up with a reason, it wouldn't be the 1st time GWS has IoM factions fight each other. However, I doubt we'll have SoB or IG any time soon post launch, if anything it'll take a year or 2 before the 5th faction comes in, and it'll most likely be Tau or Dark Eldar.
Well hears the various Faction Breakdown I know of: IOM: Space Marines Astra Militarum (Imperial Guard) - including Storm Troopers (Scions Tempestus), Imperial Assassins Adeptus Sororitas (Sisters Of Battle) Inquisition - including Ordo Hereticus, Ordo Xenos, Ordo Malleus, Death Cult Assassins, plus elements of the Grey Knights, Space Marines (Deathwatch), SoB, Storm Troopers Mechanicus - including Skitarii, Thalax, Robots, Combat Servitors Chaos: Chaos Space Marines Traitor Guard &Cultists Daemons Xenos: Eldar Dark Eldar Necrons Tau - including Kroot, Vespids, Humans Tyranids Non-codex factions: Squats/Demiurg Hrud Exodite Eldar Genestealer Cults Notice that the IOM has Five main factions, whilst Chaos and Xenos combined have 8. So if they alternate between enemy and IOM factions they should be able to cover most of them.
