Yes, but not until after launch (probably sometime in january) and they will require some form of in game currency to "summon".
They do, but this is currently meaningless. It is basically just the highest "ranked" person in the squad. The major problem they are dealing with right now is that exarchs are vastly superior to other races equivalents and as such, will require some pretty intense balancing in order to be representative of the lore and fun to play against/with. Also exarchs all possess problematic weaponry: Fire dragons: fire pike is too long (modeling it is very difficult) and the dragons breath flamer might be too difficult to balance and might not be included at all Dire avengers: there is currently no modelling done for two handed weapons (so the halberd can't be used) and the shimmershield might interfere with the warlock power "protect" Swooping hawks: balancing an incredibly mobile unit that has a close combat weapon will be tough Dark Reapers: the dark reaper exarch is fucking devastating all by himself. I have no idea what they are going to do to make him not OP Howling banshees: lots of two handed weapons and dual wielded weapons, plus the triskele is going to be pretty complicated Scorpions: same problems as the banshees but replace the triskele with the scorpions claw.
Huh...you think the Tokens we earn are going to be the currency used to summon "Elite" hero units for use in games? Librarians, Wraithguards, Termies etc?
I though squad leaders were chosen randomly (at the start of a match, and then reassigned if the old one disconnects or changes squad) and that it actually does have a (very minuscule) function of granting teammates bonus toughness and 15% more XP
IMHO, lore should not be taken so seriously. It's a competitive pvp game, so just give exarchs and veterans similar stats and let people have fun. About the weapons, i believe we're going to be able to unlock them as we rise in ranks, so a high rank aspect warrior could ber similar to an exarch in armament. Scorpion claw is a power gaunlet, fire pike is a long range melta, every faction except eldar have high mobility melee units, the shimmershield it's only an elf shield-bro...i don't see many problems here. I see more problematic the dual-wielding melee weapons, no idea how are they going to work, and the banshees, because if they stun targets just charging them, they are going to be very OP.
Meh, doesn't a Pokkit Rokkit already do this? I know the normal Rokkit does, I was running up and Rokkiting faces and then Knuckling them to death.
