This thread is for people to post their Ideal 40k book.

Personally, I want a Book of Lorgar. Not the full thing, considering how many volumes is in it, just a large enough part that we get a deep and well-grounded understanding of the Word Bearers, their Primarch Lorgar, and the exact teachings of the Eightfold Path.

And have it be written exclusively by Chaos writers.
  2. Your chances are good
They start to write books about each primarch starting with gulliman

I would love to see a series about orks with orks as main chars
That would be so cool :O
Would be hard to write all that orky talking but would be so awesome!

The story should be about an ork boy ranking up until he becomes a warlord!
Or about a small troop of orks which stranded on a wild planet and they build their own army and conquer the world
Then creating a huge waaagh and start to conquer more!

    1) Necrons, the most ancient race in this galaxy, yet still we have only two short novels about them....necrontyr's ways of life in the Time of Flesh, before they pledged allegiance to C'tan, how they first encountered Old Ones and became rivals and Silent King's rise to prominence

    2) Old Ones - who they really are, how eldar race was created and their might before the Fall and birth of Slaanesh, War in Heavens description, certainly its scale and grandeur exceeded greatly Horus Heresy

    3) Humanity's Dark Age of Technology - what was happening thousands of years before Imperium of Mankind was forged by the Emperor, perhaps description of premises occured that allowed existence of the Emperor himself, who this creature really was, his secret pacts with xenos and Chaos Gods etc.

    4) Foundation of Commorragh, its forefathers, how this interdimensional port started its parasytic expansion within the Webway, becoming larger and larger

And a book of Tau, of course, who really created these Greater Good-crazed guys ))

I want a book with a krork being freed from some kind of stasis and taking over a waaaaggghhh!!!. Plus I'd like if it was from orky perspective and the enemy was necrons. Maybe toss in some eldar of some kind just for added character interactions since most necrons don't tend to talk all that much.
  6. More Solo Character Stories from Inquisitors to see a different aspect and life in the 40k world would be a real wonder for sure.

As much as I'd want stories on the unknown as much as everyone does, What are the Daemon Primarchs whats this whats that. There is alot to be said for the mystery, the infrequent, the lack of hard facts all that atmosphere.

Plus due to how some of the Primarchs in the HH series are written book to book or just how they have been characterised at all, Yeah leave it as a the great unknown
  7. More books exploring the galaxy away from war, or featuring more unique armies rather than just using tabletop models.

More xenos novels overall, showing them at a strengthened position or exploring their societies like Path of the Dark Eldar. Also tau novels which ignore the awful "Ethereals are evil! Ethereals are evil! 1984! 1984! 1984!" storyline would be very welcome indeed.

Finally, more singular stories exploring past eras would be very fun indeed. Either those looking into events barely explored in the timeline like the War of the False Primarch or Mechanicus schism, or even Rogue Trader novels with fleets exploring the vast unknown regions of space.

Oh, and more Gaunt's Ghosts novels. That series deserves to be finished off at long last, and by Abnett himself.

I don't know if Mr Abnett is able to. I heard he has some health problems.

I would like some books about some more obscure Chapter(like the Lamenters :p), what some of the more sane chaos space marines are up to during 40k, I`m also curious what life is like for the average Eldar citizen.

Seems like the consensus is: we want more books about things that aren't current main stream SM stories.

I don't like SM but I wouldn't hesitate to read another Black dragon book or actually get a book about the mantis warriors.

Tbh I'd even take a few well writen salamander books at this point. Just keep the plot atmor bs to a minimum please.
