I have a really great idea, since i was reading a thing about revives. This game should have health bars on all parts of the body. Example- Fallout Have health bars for . The Head, torso, Legs, Arms. Then the ordinary 1 health bar. Why we should have multiple health bars. So we can have legs getting blown off, arms being blown off. Or instant death head shots. Crippling effects. Then it makes the last stand seem much more realistic with multiple health bars then 1. Since being shot in the torso is more a death sentence then getting your arms or legs blown off. This could also work for tanks and Machines. Health bars on the sides, front, back. Top. Then there is more customs . Having more armor on the front leg then the back. etc. Or more armor on the upper left arm then the upper right arm. ( though i don't want to see the slow motion bullets hitting the head like fallout has it. That slows down the game play.) Though i would like to see slow motion instant replays on great headshots maybe. Or far off snipes. Or really far off gernade that kills 5 people in 1 gern. Though i find the fallout health bar system a better idea then the tradition 1 healthbar system.
They already said limbs will only come off during executions. A headshot is a headshot, doesn't need its own healthbar for that. Oh, and no replays imo. They spoil the game more than they add to it.
They should just allocate damage multipliers on each part of teh bodeh. Ex. The head receives 2.4x, the legs 0.6x, etc.
I am all for details impact and realistic balistic. So I can only support the idea of damage by location. And why not have our character get permanent injury or bionic replacement when you got your arm blown off (if you don't die, that is).
Such things wont exist, if Patricks recent post has anything to say on the matter: "well in short, we have some ideas for this for executions only - you for sure won't continue fighting if e.g. an arm is missing! as for the impact on the server/client - this should not be a big concern, but it's also up for tests first before we will confirm anything. I have to disapprove the idea this thread implies was ok for a game like fallout which was 1 player and them alone but the sheer amount of players deters ANYOTHER health system then bloody screen or good ole fashion health bar ( which is my personal favriote ) maybe with a 40k twist like maybe eldar have a pecie of wraithbone and it looks more broken as the player takes damage space marines have an Aquila orks have either the typical orky skull symbol or a waaagh symbol and chaos has the good ole undivided star.
I love the idea of different parts of your body taking damage. But I dont know if that would work with so many people playing at once. I have to say ps2 has three seperate hit boxes per character. If you shoot a guy in the legs you are only going to do 90% damage.
