I'd like a refund.

Hello. I'm sorry to say that I am not coming here to participate in discussion on my favorite things about this game, what I think the game should add, or how to make this game better. Simply put, I don't think this game is worth the price that I paid.

I purchased this game during its Early Access period. At the time, I was willing to support a burgeoning game in its development into something that would be an excellent addition to the Warhammer 40k library. However, the game was released before its time. The early access period changed little to no major points about the game, and I feel it was not in any way improved by having an early access period.

I'm not above giving a game its fair and earnest chance, and thus I have about 4 hours on record currently. I have tried the game and found it lacking in every arena, from performance to balance to the fact that there are random loot boxes determining progression and unlocks, in addition to a leveling system with perks. These things all come together to make this game utterly repulsive. It's broken, buggy, performs horribly, and the game itself is not nearly what was promised, nor is it even good in its basic form.

As a result, I'd like a refund. Unfortunately, since I did buy in during Early Access and I've played more than 2 hours in an effort to show some sort of misguided willingness to give the game its chance, Steam automatically declines it. Since there appears to be no help or support option for the game itself, I figured I'd post here. I think it would at least show some integrity and solidarity for the team to help me out in this regard and issue a refund for this game, since they have failed to deliver in every regard on making a quality product worth even its Early Access price.

Thank you, that's helpful. Not quite where I expected support tickets to be, but I'm not a supportologist.
  4. I'm sorry to hear that, and I do hope that you give it another chance. I've played the game for about 70 hours, and I loved every minute of it. The game itself is not bad, in my opinion. My expectations for the game wasn't high to begin with, so when I started playing the game, I was pleasantly surprised by how fun it was. I didn't pay any attention to MMO hype, I didn't really believe it would necessary be a better game. This game can very well be a lot better in a few months, I hope it does, for everyone.

The design choices regarding progression is a matter of opinion, some people don't mind it, but I do understand why people don't. The balance is getting there and the progression system will probably change.

As for your refund, if you're persistent about it then I'd recommend submitting a support ticket. This thread would be buried in a day or two.

    Good luck.

There should be laws specifically states that if a seller promises something to pre - sell a product then for whatever reason cannot live up to the original promise then they should be god damn financially responsible for compensating people that bought the pre release sells.

    Behavior's based in Quebec.

If Quebec made a law like what the guy there suggested, there would be zero legal feths given about a game's ToS if it went against that law, because I'm pretty darned sure that in Canada contracts that break the law are prohibited.

I'm absolutely not a legal expert though, and I could be wrong, but I recall learning at some point that Quebec has some fairly stringent consumer protection laws that can be very harshly punishing for businesses that try to side-step them.
  9. Please in the future check video reviews and gameplay footage on a game before you purchase it. Buying a fully launched product and then asking for a refund typically doesnt work. This is why player reviews and gameplay videos exsist, so the consumer can research a product before they commit their money.

The trouble with this theory is that I was, in fact, an early backer, and while that carries its own set of risks I was hopeful that the direction the game took would be more positive for having early backers. I certainly enjoy Warhammer 40k enough to support almost any games that come out (mobile games notwithstanding) and I have no trouble seeing that Early Access can be a tool for developers and publishers to make great games.

The problem that I've run into is that now that the game has released, I feel that it is not improved. It has not significantly changed in any way that I would deem positive, especially with a full pricetag and microtransactions eager to procure further currency. It is not simply a game that I don't like, it's a company and a decision-making process that I no longer wish to support.
