Iconic Character

  1. Any of the Phoenix Lords. Or, of course, the exalted Eldrad Ulthran. Or Ilic Nightspear, perhaps?
  2. Jared Jared Subordinate

    None!

By including named characters you're only making the 40k universe smaller. The whole point of the setting is to express how mind-blowingly huge it really is, far far moreso than other sci-fi settings. I'd be much happier with an entirely new set of characters to add to the existing lore than a well-known character that will only get people angry and fill the forums with posts of, "That's not how I imagined them!!"
Locutus and Farseer Urist like this.
  3. Grigdusher Grigdusher Arch-Cardinal

all the four chapter master in the war coucil room of the space marine.

  4. I would much rather see Lt. Mira than Titus, especially since Titus is for some reason the captain of the 2nd company of the Smurfs, which the last time I checked the fluff was some nobody named Cato Sicarius.
Even Relic ended up saying that the Space Marine story is not fluff and not a part of the "same 40k universe".
Someone like Mira would be easier to digest, or maybe a nod to SM with a Deathwatch or random Ultramarine Titus.
Ghazghkull would be cool to see if and when they introduce the Black Templar, since Helbrecht and Yarrick are hunting him. A less famous, but just as entertaining greenskin I would like to see would be Gorgutz from Dawn of War Dark Crusade and Soulstorm.

I could dig that. It would actually be preferable to see Titus in the role of a Deathwatch marine since he did get carted off by the Inquisition instead of being executed on the spot. Makes more sense that way.
Also, do they ever explicitly state which company he's a part of? I don't recall them mentioning the unit during gameplay.

And yes, Mira would be more interesting to see on the front lines. She had a much more interesting character than Titus or the other Ultramarines.

The galaxy is a massive place. I've always found cribbing of famous characters to be hackneyed in science fiction, as if the untold trillions of people only ever produced 5 or 6 people who ever do anything substantial. BI should create their own characters and make them compelling through their own work. In particular because using famous characters like this is an easy way to create fluff conflicts when some other writers proclaim Kharn or whoever was in fact on Herpulon IV during the time BI might say they're on Derpulon VI in Eternal Crusade.

Plus, special characters are typically just set pieces anyway, idling in some safe area in perpetuum, never actually being interesting, and overall just being a waste of a reference. How many times do you think you'll be interested to see Kharn and get a quest to collect space bear asses from him before the novelty wears off?

So I'd rather BI use original characters for their work.
Locutus and Bjorn Hardrada like this.

Defiantly hoping Kharn makes an appearance but also want them to have at least one from each race make an appearance, so I can add there skulls to the skull throne :)
  8. Yeah, in one of the cutscenes early on (if I remember correctly) he is called the captain of the 2nd company.
