I wanted to be a Healer?

Discussion in 'Space Marines' started by Gisborne, Sep 29, 2016.

  1. Toaster_T Sarritor First Blood!

Wofpriest are special snowflake they have access to crozius where other apoths do not, but cannot have the bolter or chainsword.
    (and healgrenades are awesome)

This is the thing, im fucking space wolves... when i play tact marine i get top of the scoreboard often and get 20+ kills i'm a beast witht he boltgun, but as wolf priest i can't have the fucking thing so i'm reduced to spamming my mace like autistic ork or shooting people 40 times with my plasma pistol to realise it's not for some reason killing them... If i could equip boltgun on my wolf priest i would have so much more fun. Really considering re rolling Ult.
  3. When i play sm Apoth only, I really do enjoy it but it does feel like its missing something. Sadly its the only class that i enjoy as a SM I would like Devastator but The CSM cannon is so much more fun and the stalker bolter got nerfed too hard. Maybe in 5 years if Chaplain or Librarian come out ill be on this side more till then it feels like CSM get more bang for there buck
  4. Alexandrix Alexandrix Arkhona Vanguard

I feel your pain.I have a wolf priest as well.
Got to rank 3,decided to swap to bolter for a while.....oh wait...can't use a bolter....rerolled DA apo
  5. Yeti Yetzilla Arkhona Vanguard

Oh lets talk about how TSM healers can use power swords too, easily top us in melee and ranged combat/heals then.
  6. CptDred CptDred Arkhona Vanguard

They use Force Weapons, not Power Weapons :) But yeah, they get quite the upper hand in combat with that.

Also I wonder if they'll be getting staffs, that would be dope as hell.
  7. I have the Quicksilver Pattern Bolter (300lp) equipped on my Apothecary right now, so yes you can use it.

Also the best Apothecary Beacon we can use costs 300lp, Bolter or chains word at 200lp, 100 for the basic Narthecium Vial (healing item)or 200lp for the one that heals over time for longer, 100 for the bolt pistol and Narthecium leaving 200-300 lp for anything else you want to equip.
  8. Bloodbolt Bloodbolt Arkhona Vanguard

It's inherent to Warhammer there is no other way to implement this Apothecary and in Extent Painboyz are close Quarter If you prefer a more Overwatch way of healing you are better served by playing a Sorcerer or a Warlock

Also the Fang of morkai can be used to melee the Narthecium willl poison any non-SM
  9. EDOKILLER EDOKILLER Confessor

Someone know why LSM apothecary can't use a power sword in this game like some other race? I play a blood angel melee apothecary; chainsword is funny but is hard play against power weapon...
  10. To not make melee classes obsolete, while healing yourself over and over?

Maybe they will adjust the skill-tree in this regard in the future, as I think there might be a need for this (from rank4 on or Veteran Apo only, maybe?).

Same goes for the wolfpriest, who in principle is a full Chaplain and should be much more powerful, but I guess the Devs feared that this would throw the factions off balance...however if he cannot equip a Bolter he needs some kind of specialty beside his Crozius Arcanum, which is "just" an equivalent of a power mace.

I hope the classes develop much further during the evolution of the game (I hope it will get the chance to develop from this point on!)

Personally, I don't really like the introduction of "healing grenades" as these are non-existing in the 40k universe, but following this discussion I grudgingly accept that there is a need for such a mechanic in contrast to CSM and Eldar psychic healing powers.

(I hoped there would have been a different kind of solution, because fluff-wise each power armor has primitive healing capabilities by applying stimulants and drugs as it is connected with the marines bloodstream. It would be much more fitting if the Apothecary has access to a short range remote control of medical monitoring systems of each power armor in reach. Thereby adjusting the internal medication and optimizing its efficiency and getting battle brother stabilized until full treatment can be delivered. Which basically translates into an AoE heal with the Apo as the center. This would make much more sense fluff wise.....but I just assume now that the beacon is doing exactly that, just that my personal 40k universe interpretation is still sound and I can sleep well. Because I know that the heretic who dared to invent new technology will soon be turned into a servitor for disrespecting the Omnissiah's will :p)
