I Want Necrons!!!

I liked Necrons alot more before when they were mindless slaves of the C'tans. But if they still were they would only work as an NPC faction as they did not have any free will.
Todays Necrons, so boring imo. -sigh- Sure they got more stuff to play around with, but they look less badass now.

That is how I feel, since I dont like the egyptian theme.
(Yes I know OP said he has heard the 'Tomb Kings in Space' too often)

Dont get me wrong, I am(was?) a huge Necron fan. But the new edition didn't speak to me.

No worries, I am not offended ^^

But yes, true. Unlike in WHFB, Dark Eldar and Eldar can actually have an alliance. But it is a bit more versatile and random than most other factions have (for example, SM and IG wouldn't really fight without a very good reason), so it isn't too much of a problem.

Well, for me it was just the opposite:

    Mindless slaves = Boring.

And: C'tan = Tyranid rip-off and REALLY badly implemented (Gods as models on the TT? PLS)

(Also: Nothin wrong with havin dat pimpin gangsta bling :D)

Actually there is a straight Tau vs Necron pool(and Tau is winning:cool:),but people seem to ignore it for some reason.

i guess there are more things that speak for necrons than for tau. tau have weird aesthetics that look more out of place in 40k than even commonly depicted ork behaviour. then again: railguns, cool big suits bristling with weapons, ion cannons, skyray missile gunships.... and other really interesting experimental tech.

as for the necrons, they should more have a common death theme rather than going too much the egyptian way. they have some of the worst looking vehicles ive ever seen... the mobile toilet(monolith), the fragile arks, wonky looking weapon platforms...

what speaks for them is their skeletal design, gauss weapons, tesla weapons, kanoptek spyders, wraiths, nightscytes...

Because it's convenient :p Also, when given just the two options a lot of the people who voted for other factions are more Tau friendly then Necron.

Yeah the mindless slave Necrons was kinda boring for alot of ppl if I remember.
I just found the old Fluff better, where they were betrayed and turned into slaves for eternity.. touching.
But I'm glad that you find the new ones more fun.
Guess I am an old fart that cant keep up with the new generation, or just to dense to do so. -hehe- ^^

Anyways, I just wanted to post my view of the Necrons.
And it also gave me a chance to post that necron picture. -hehe-
But before I leave, here is another Necron pic.
    Enjoy.

lol, lets face it "terminators in space", its no worse then the Tau who were created to appease the japanese otaku fetish for "gundam" robo-suits and power rangers...

its midly surprising there isnt a Tau secret weapon where their suits join to together to form "Mega-Tau" (Voltron)

Hah! Actually I'm an old fart myself. I just remember the pre-codex lore from WD. Didn't have any C'tan in it. Just good ol' space terminators with a Space Robot Pharaoh as their leader. The lore just said they were a super ancient race that transformed themselves into machines, but had to go dormant because of a galaxy-wide apocalypse.

    Then came the codex and...

    Mo' C'tan, Mo' Problems

Necrons are actually my first 40k army. I think in a game like this it would be tough to balance them out. Not to mention how gauss weapons glance vehicles to death.
