You can't always get what you want. But if you try some time, well you just might find... You get what you need!
Btw I'm on your side, I love Necrons, favorite army second to SM. But I sometimes I have to stop and realize they're not as popular as they once were, namely for two reasons. Gauss doesn't have nearly the same advantage that it did in earlier editions, and also their fluff 5th edition on is basically trash. So I know if I was in an argument about who the 'coolest' 40k army was, the Tau-lovers and Dark Eldar (OP) fans would always outnumber me, this is the sad truth of our existence due to Matt Ward and his inherent tradition of ruining everyone's favorite codex. The best news I could give you this year is that hopefully Matt Ward is ruining the Dark Eldar as we speak, and finally the Dark Eldar menace will be stopped, once and for all (though probably not).
Tau seem to be more popular in the polls, but Necrons are not far off, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that they'll be playable in the first or second expansion.(Assuming the game is successful of course.) Hey now... them's fighting words.
Sorry, but there is the Return of the King. Phil Kelly will write the DE-codex, not Ward, like he did the previous one as well as the new CWE. Tau are also OP, not just Dark Eldar btw Aanyway. Tau are pretty popular choice and I would enjoy seeing them in the game, but seeing necrons too would be nice. I would really just think that one of them has to be waited for, there can't be everything. I will wait for Dark Eldar the whole Eternal Crusade, without creating a thread every now and then on asking to add them.
Sorry man but mechanical terminators IN SPACEEEEEE. Hardly original. They are cool. But originality on 40k? Not that much. Whatever faction they eventually add I will keep playing the game but im a bit biased towards Tau.
i feel many will be waiting on their most wanted races for the entire game. i also feel many will never get what they were waiting for even by the time the servers shut down. on the basis that every; 1st founding, second founding, legion, warband, clan, craftworld, pirate, lost in the warp dudes, would be implemented is a dream i think everyone has but no one person will achieve. i dont think this is going to be Armageddon and i don't think GW are willing to make the single biggest conflict since the HH days be eclipsed by this game. out of the races so far untouched, Dark Eldar/AM/Imperial Knights/SoB/Death Watch/Tau/Necrons/Daemons, DE and Necrons and Tau are the only races left that are not allied with the other races in use already. and tau being a no CC army is going to be too much to get right that i don't think you'll be able to pull something off that pleases enough people to make it viable. make them too OP in ranged and all the CC-mid range people will complain/quite/switch to tau. make the tau get into CC somehow and the tau players will be fewer than eldar and not return the money on their development. with ether DE or Necrons there's more to work with that is similar to the other races. now between DE and Necrons well, Necrons, we already have an Eldar race.
That isn't a reason not to have Dark Eldar. They would be very different in terms of classes (they would only need 4 unlike eldar) and they wouldn't have any weapons in common (unless harlequins are implemented, which I doubt). Just as well we should remove CSM and never implement IG because we already have SM and they (already) share 3 classes identical to CSM, as well as almost all weapons between them, and would have a lot in common with IG too.
i ment no disrespect to DE, i didn't mean to throw out DE because of the similarities of units. i was trying to allow that each race be of its own. allow me to clarify, i meant that they share an alliance with eldar to a point that is above a alliance that could occur between the forces already in the conflict. now if im getting DE lore/fluff wrong please inform me, i don't nor have i ever read anything DE myself. i only know what my friends who play DE have told me or what i have seen in relation to other events/people. . when it comes to CSM's , LSM would never alli. and a truce between LSM and eldar is at best a " i wont shoot you tell i have what i want" on both sides. orks never alli with humans out side that one clan that has with IG before, which since there most likely wont be any IG in the game is imo a mute point. btw Mngwa im sorry if that post offended you, though i maybe reading to much into it.
