We can HOPE for splash damage to have a drop off and only the center of the blast being a 1-shot. But as to how soon?

as funny as this montage is (nothing compares to that mortar shot) i feel as tho there should be a bit of a penalty for such liberal use of a plasma cannon. all it does is stun the user if it overheats and it needs to vent that heat before it fires again.

My suggestion is a bit of damage to the user if/when it overheats

At least you have to get close with melee, the n00b tube gets to 1 hit kill from across the map.
