I refuse to play against Eldar on Fortress attack maps

It still takes time, you can't flank them up there, when they hide in a tower nobody but them can reach, you can't be as precise as they're, if you look every place you lose time, and that's what they want, it's their job, to delay enemies and be an annoyance, and they're extremly good at it. That time you take waiting for him/her to show his/her head is time wasted not capping/defending a point, etc.

And again, they aren't as unarmed as some people paint them.

There's also the thing that not everybody can play them and that means not everybody will know in which places they can hide.

It's not just floating though, they can land and take position in places where you don't even get a chance to notice let alone respond before you are dead.

You're focusing on killing them as a means to counter them. Staying out of their line of sight, or just forcing them to move, completely neuters them.

And now you know where they are, or your buddies do. If they stay there, they can be avoided or suppressed.

Yeah... If they stay there and lets not forget they have access to sun rifles to counter that. A few good hawk players could bring misery to an entire team.

I just.. wah? the only faction that was easier to attack on a Fortress than Eldar was old Orks when Waaagh would kick in and drain their tickets.

I'll have to agree with Kageshira and NurgleBurger.....I just tried eldar for the first time and jumped on the Swooping Hawks on my first go. We managed to hinder the ork advance soo much that we won even with 0 tickets left on the last point. We literally went on the offensive... lol.

Fellow Hawks were able to jump to fronts with ease where we got pushed, we probably seemed to be everywhere at once, Kannons and Dakkas were priority targets. I could probably imagine how it felt for the orks, assailed from all fronts and sides.....we probably seemed more numerous to them than we actually were. Felt sorry for them tbh....

Eldar have true means for asymmetric warfare and asymmetric engagements, everyone else seems linear and conventional.....which IMHO should fit in......

This is my first go at the Swooping Hawk.......I think I'll unlock its tree fully.....

Don't forget, powerfists can damage fortifications too.

Respectfully, you are in error when it comes to map knowledge. Not that it should be a baseline skill, it should be, but that it is a baseline skill attainable in game for everyone. There is a single class from a single faction that can explore maps with close to total freedom (albeit in combat), the Eldar's Swooping Hawk.

You know free players do not have access to the Swooping Hawk, because they have no flight classes. Nor do they have the opportunity to avoid fighting against Eldar since they must queue "Battle Now" and take what they are given or quit. The answer cannot be pay to learn a baseline skill, nor should it be. Neither should it be watching hours of Swooping Hawk players on YouTube et al. It definitely should not be die from unknown and unreachable positions until you've memorised every last one.

As a paying player I'm off to play Cheese Hawk, because my thirst for knowledge will not be denied!

P.S. Please forgive the deliberate straw man. You know what I'm trying to do. ;)
