Hrm, I'm tentative, but we'll see. I always advocated/wanted more specialization in this game and for players to "pick a path". I just hope I can make a "Tanky-ish" Tactical still, maybe with a medkit. After DOW 2 I fell in love with the Tanky Tarkus build so that's probably what I'll always go for. It will be nice to see durability wargear FINALLY be on par with lethality wargear in a game considering it's usually always better to go more damage than defense in literally every other game.
They lowered the cost on armors (Artificer and Rune) but added more wargear 2 items that cost a fair amount that increase tankness by a fair amount. I think one gave 60 armor but cost a lot. Anyways you can make a tanky tactical that uses a bolter, and can bring a medkit, but might not take trinkets which are supposed to be supplements anyways not something you always take. To answer your question more directly, yes you can do that.
Warlocks have 150 hp and 50 armor. eHP of 200 Apothecarys have 200 hp and 25 armor. eHP of 225 Warlocks are still the squishiest of supports. I also believe Apoths have more choices in wargear that increases armor than the Warlocks do.
So it seem everyone is just gonna spam ground assault units from now on, this shit seems ridiculous. I may actually need to look at UAT and see what it is like, with such drastic changes I feel the "balancing," that has been worked on since launch will be wasted.
