I have played Eldar way to much to be surprised by that. Even Loyalists seems to restrain themselves with the Plasma Cannon and allies in melee, Eldar DO NOT! Not that it matters a lot after the übernerf (it will be buffed, I know)
It sounds like the meta has reversed itself in recent years, then. My information is quite dated. That being said, it doesn't really matter which way the cookie crumbles, so long as one faction is preferred by the PvP crowd. My point was that this is a real phenomenon in online gaming, and likely to be present in EC.
