wow not 1$=1€ only 329,99€ and the lower pack is only 34.99€ it's clear that the prices are euro bases
Sure it does. How many people read this, and decide to never bother looking at this game? *puts hand up* Well that's one. And I like the franchise, so it might have held some interest to me.
Then you must of not have dug deep enough because there are alot of Transformers fans that buy every single toy that comes out even the huge 400 dollar ones like Unicron.
Holy hell.. I would be all over that! I would throw my $500 in their face so fast and with the fury of a thousand winds.
Yea this is outrageous but I see this as "aim for the stars and land somewhere in between" kind of strategy, if they get even one person to pay for this they got what they wanted out of it.
Really? Hum. Okay, I can't say I can follow your reasoning, but ... alright. I'll take your word for it. I can't say I am well accustomed to the franchise's current condition, but you just about never hear anything about it anymore - aside from the recent movies, and I hadn't thought these alone would have that much of an effect. But in that case I suppose their pricing makes sense. Personally, I don't care what amount of cash someone asks for "packages" for their game. I've thrown well over a hundred bucks at Elite Dangerous, Shadowrun Online, and MWO each. The only thing that matters to me is if any game I'm interested in is P2W or not, and you can't extract this information just from looking at the prices alone. Best example: MWO recently sold Clan 'Mechs with a gold skin for $500. Some people raged. Not me. Why should I? It's just a skin, and doesn't affect my enjoyment of the game. Value is relative, so if anyone wants to shell out that kind of money just for a show-off texture, more power to them - they're funding a game I'm interested in, after all. That's not to say that this Transformers game may not be P2W, mind you; I've not taken a closer look at it. Just saying that price matter little. It's what you get for it that counts. I wouldn't mind if Eternal Crusade would have an offer for $500, $1000 or, hell, $40000 ) either if all it gives you is fancy skins and special titles or an NPC with your name in the world or whatever. (for that matter I am deeply concerned that EC's current founder packs mentions "boosters and resources") Just my 2 vouchers of Imperial Scrip, tho. :3
Because it didn't just quietly say ''cash grab,'' in fact it didn't even yell it at the top of is lungs. It painted it all over the walls, and then ran up and punched me in the face to make sure I was paying attention. Long story short? I understand games are business, but overcharging for anything in any business puts me off the idea of ever buying in to that product. It's not a competitive product, it's not for a game bound to make a lot of money in the first place, and it is a quite blatant rip off. Why makes me wonder why I should even consider the possibility of giving any money to such a stupidly thought out product. Ergo, it makes me not want to touch it at all. And I won't be alone.
Ah, see, now that sounds as if you did not have that much interest in it to begin with, which I can understand a lot better than just looking at the prices. As I said in my first post, such ginormous prices are obviously targeting people who are crazy for a game like this, rather than moderate customers who just look at a title and go "*shrug* meh, I'll give it a go". The latter are supposed to be catered to by the normal offers, which would hopefully have an appropriately more moderate price. It's also worth pointing out that they are not exactly overcharging for anything, if you'd actually save cash compared to buying all items included in that pack individually. It only seems so much because you're just looking at the big number. So if that is what's putting you off, there's a lot of games with micro-transactions that should likewise be a turndown for you. Very likely including Eternal Crusade. It all comes down to the question of what you want, and how much you're willing to pay for it. Why should I care how much someone else pays - or may be supposed to pay, on the off chance that nobody jumps at the offer - if what they get doesn't affect me?
