I think the ability to shoot the bolt should be kept, for cool effect, and I think the same should apply to Plasma balls too, but that's just me. Definitely needs a speed up though, and some kind of unique effect. Maybe instead of just "hurr durr this bolt makes big boom!", it could impact, do some like AOE, but have like a lingering warp damage effect. Or it could just be a big boom, of course. Either way, faster projectile would do a world of good.
