We, the gamers, were jaded and F-ed by the gaming industry many times to know that all too well. But there were (and still are) bright moments that we hold on to. So, you got that right But my expectations are pretty high, alright That's part of the problem somewhat, since I'm still waiting to see DEVs full vision of this project. I want to form my expectations into something more realistic. God forbid rushing DEVs into releasing the game too soon though I'd pay them too keep the game in production for a month or two longer but get the quality, with a capital Q, in the end
It depends, but yes, an MMO is generally completely bug free and tweaked a year after release Then comes the additional content
Well, I played Anarchy Online, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, Warhammer Online for quite a while.. From what I saw (except AO) all of them have had some flaws the first year after launch. Developers do a lot of tweaking, balancing, adding features, doing some stuff they were not able to finish before release.. The community gets to know the game better, modding community works on addons and such, sometimes devs see that and copy those addon's features and build them into the game.. So yeah, I'm pretty sure it takes a year after release for an MMO to settle Besides, the first year really shows if the game is going to be successful or not
It will all come down to how Behaviour handles its release, proper marketing, interactive company (Hell Riot games shows this all the time by just posting to random threads on their forums), and just having a good game in general.
