    That you did.

This is one of the core reasons the Death Guard Legion turned against the Emperor.

  3. And now they run amock around planets slaughtering people and turning them into zombies in the name of their Chaos God. It's ironic, that was my point. The Emperor was no saint, he had his own plans and kept the truth about certain stuff (although with good intentions i believe) but well.. the Chaos Gods proved to be much worse. I mean i would understand if a CSM picked Chaos and opposed the Emperor with the excuse that he's weak or a liar or not truly a God like the Word Bearers did. But blaming him cause he's evil and then turning to a Chaos God which is even more "evil" and obviously doesn't care at all about the prosperity of the human race in the Materium, doesn't make much sense to me.

And this is connected to the point i made earlier in this thread about how i'd like Chaos to be portrayed as less mindlessly evil and more "neutral" as Chaos really should be.

You know not the truth of Chaos.
There is no order in chaos. There is no singular emotion that holds true, ask a follower of the great serpent.
Do you truly believe the great carrion worm cares for you in anyway other then the fact that you harbour his most divine creations. You fight for the blessings of Nurgle to live eternal and undying. In order to achieve that you must be the breeding ground of his most vilest diseases.
The great deceiver plots and deceives in ways that will make a small event conspire to twist the galaxy itself and will enlighten you in the truth of how the galaxy works. You fight for the truth and knowledge that Tzeentch offers you. In order to achieve that you must plot and deceive so that you are on top of your competitors for the notice Tzeentch and even then you will be a pawn in his master plan.
The great serpent wants the ecstasy you feel at the height of all your emotions to further empower him/her self. You fight for the ability to experience the greatest of pleasures in all tasks you undertake. In order to achieve that you must give in to all the pleasures
My god cares not from whence the blood comes as long as it is spilled, whether it is in his name or not it spills for him. I fight for the strength to spill more blood so that one day he will further embolden me with the ascension to demon prince so that I can further kill in his name.
The great lords all grant us our abilities when we serve them how they wish.
There are no Khornites that harbour honour as you believe it exists. Any that do so are swiftly destroyed by their own machinations.
Know that true chaos is a swirling tornado of blood//pestilence/ecstasy/deceit and most of all destruction and if you think any one of those can be with out the others you are as ignorant as those that follow the corpse.
We are all monsters and are better for it. Which is why we have lasted 1000's of years whereas most corpse followers hardly last half a millennium and his slaves last 10 times less.

    TL;DR
Puny CSM with your talks of feelings. Grow a pair of mutations and embrace what chaos truly is....Chaos.
Now less talky and more choppy.

(Side note Out Of Character, please correct me if I'm wrong.: Doesn't Malal care about killing other chaos followers. He uses all the tools of the chaos lords against them.)

Apologies for any spelling or grammatical errors, I am a Khorne worshipper after all.

  5. Malal to me is the truest embodiment of what Chaos represents. Total Chaos and anarchy even if it goes against Chaos itself. The very emblem of chaos shows exactly that, the 8 arrows pointing in all directions representing the lack or order and the infinite possibilities (has anyone read Moorcock btw?)
It doesn't necessarily have to be "evil" or full of blood and body limbs like our Khornite friend here thinks though. Chaos and it's Gods can also represent "good" aspects in its lawlessness, like Tzeentch which embodies progress among other things as opposed to Nurgle that promotes decay, although that "better" aspect of Chaos isn't shown as much in Warhammer's lore.

Staying true to W40K, isn't chaos represented by the 4 gods and Malal. therefore taking that into account and this is out of character: Chaos gods version of good is the ideals of good but perverted into something that isn't good to a normal humans perception. If this was real life I would serve the emperor as the lesser of 2 evils. but again that would be my perspective.

This entire thread seems to me, to suggest that people believe that chaos has good in it. However with regards to W40K the whole idea of it is that Chaos bad Emperor good.

Not necessarily in my opinion reading over the whole fluff the IOM and chaos are as bad as each other since they are extremes of chaos and order. Yes there are some factors to do good but with extremes a whole lot of evil is produced instead.

Moderation does not exist in 40k.

  8. Exactly! Although when i think of both sides i could say that a moderate state of the Order side was during the Great Crusade where the Emperor wasn't seen as a God and he was trying to control his Primarch sons from commiting genocides when that was possible. The extreme side of Order comes after the Emperor's internment when the Imperial Cult appears and we have the Inquisition performing exterminatus on rogue planets etc.. new dark ages.
The thing is that we don't see a moderate side of Chaos. It's just extreme lustful butchering etc.

Well you see the moderate side of chaos in novels I really recommend pawns of chaos. A planet that worships tzeentch. Plus the old night lords novel is really interesting and grey, both are really old books though. I really recommend pawns of chaos since it takes a real good philosophical look at chaos and the IOM. Plus the IOM do pretty horrible things to the planet that is being invaded especially the children.

There are not really any good chaos novels that only look at bolters and explosions.

Only good chaos novel I have read recently is betrayer ADB makes the whole chaos and IOM conflict grey hence I like reading his stuff.

Here is the point of everything.
Chaos sees itself as being good while seeing the Emperor/Imperium as Evil
Imperium/Emperor sees itself as being good while seeing Chaos as Evil
