Guys, this could be a serious issue. How do we know that any of the things in Eternal Crusade are actually going to be good? For example, let's say the big day comes, we all download the game, and instead of getting a massively multiplayer online game set in Warhammer 40,000, it's just a rotating 3D render of a pumpkin. Or let's say the Space Marine weapons have been replaced with real world guns to attract the Call of Duty crowd. Or maybe the Super Mario bros are in it for no fucking reason. I don't know about you, but I can't believe I spent money on Call of Duty: Mario and Pumpkins Edition before it came out. This game sucks. /end sarcasm
despite the sarcasm, it's a good point. Guess that's the whole ideology behind founding a game though. You essentially take a huge gamble and support the game very early.
You can't stop people speculating and getting upset over nothing. It just happens, especially when people are invested in a universe like 40k players are. While you are right, and it's silly to try to get upset or fix things that haven't been actually shown yet, people like to discuss and try and help make the game the best it can be. Sadly that won't be able to be true for everyone.
If people don't express their concerns then the devs can't make sure they are not doing what the fans are afraid of. Obviously almost everything people are concerned about, me as well, is all hypothetical, but considering I am supporting this game with my hard earned money, I would like to know that I invested in something that I wont regret. Just to spend $40 to support the game was a hard enough decision for me considering I don't make that much money in the first place, and I need to pay bills. I only caught a lucky chance with some hours at work.
As long as the devs don't do what every promising game in recent memory has done (listened to the player base through development, and then right at launch do some crazy game-breaking stuff that the publishers forced on them to make more money.). I saw this in Allods, Smite, ESO, WAR... oh man, especially WAR. Because of that game's failure after launch, we will NEVER see another Fantasy Warhammer MMO again. Just, please devs, don't do that shit here.
I still enjoy smite, even though it doesn't seem to be as in touch with its player base as it used to.
Well we have seen on twitch what they can give us and what they are planing. All things considered, if one invests a few million dollars to create a rotating pumpkin then the company is going to rot away pretty damn soon, but i can rest assured that if they slander the game, Games workshop will bash in the door saying . So GW will probably sue them for not upholding their end of the deal, and besides as a company with 130+ games out there i do believe they will make a game worthy of the warhammer 40k universe, they do want to get their money back for the investment they had made and more to it prolonging the games lifeline. In the end, i saw the predator, i saw the rhino, i saw the 3d rendered models, i saw the death animations, jump up on boxes animations, jump, put heavy weapon on the box as a stationary turret, riptide effect by heavy bolter, shoulder bach, melee combat, parry combat, wall jumping as assault, several seating in a predator that each person controls one aspect off, the landscape. I am quite satisfied as they are trying to make a good game with many options towards how you want to wage your battle, we have seen quite a bit of things, and i am not to concerned in the end.
I demand Super Mario to be a sub-faction of Space Marines. I want him fully customizable in a Dark Angel armor. We can leave Luigi for the Eldars and pumpkins for Chaos, I don't care, but for goodness grace, Super Mario IS A DARK ANGEL!!!!!!!!!!.
Luigi strikes me as more of a Guardsman than an Eldar. If any of the Super Mario Crew were to be an Eldar it would be Peach, but she's not going to be in this game. The pumpkin is definitely going to side with Chaos though, it certainly wouldn't end up with the Orks, who would probably just try to make a helmet out of it.
