I 'atez ta break it to ya lad, but none uv our shootaz iz anywhere near as 'ard as dat "goose-saw" or whateva dey callz it. Dat sed, it sure sounds like a proppa orky shoota when it shootz, but all our mekboyz on Arkho-whatzitz are a puny lot an' da only 'ard shoota dey banged togetha so far is dat kannon deffgun. (Dat sed, it's about da 'ardest deffgun dere iz on dis dust-ball.)
Oi, dis is wot youz is gunna do ye, first off, ya stomp all da otha shoots boyz! Ain't no otha shoota boy gunna be shootier than youz if there are no otha shoota boyz. Gud luck ya git.
Practise handling Rodeo recoil, and the Shoota will feel like a Bolter and a Bolter will feel like- some kinda gun-metal jesus or something. (It won't quote Emp's lines from TTSD though, as much a shame as that is.) And the Shuriken catapult will feel like a thousand cut approach. Which- isn't far off to say it's got, as last as i remember 900rpm. Now, I ain't wun ta say summot! But- dey iz abit quik, dem knife ears. Dyin' too.
Big Shoota its devastating because it suppresses targets. 1v1 shoot out vs bolter you are gonna win cause they will barely be able to hit you.
Rodeo shoota is really great at close range, Dakka Paradise ! Though for medium range gunfighting you need to be an aiming pro (which i'm not !). If you can anticipate the shooting delay then big shoota is king I guess (like Madork says). But like Rage says, Dead shiny shoota is probably the best all round (no drawbacks).
Well I wouldn't say its king it does have draw backs but its a very good counter to when Space Marines begin the Bolter Spam a squad of orks with big shoota's will rip apart a squad of SM plus its easier to lug around then going loota.
'ow you kan get mor shootie: be da slugga boyz but take da zip slugga or dakka slugga meanz youze get dakka and slugga
Knowing when to shoulder and when to hip fire is the key to mastering shoota's. The only real advantage of our guns is the higher rate of fire, you can only take full advantage of that if you do longer pulse fire or full auto. Logic follows that using recoil reducing mods are best when you consider how the shootas work. General rule of thumb is to aim center mass and allow for the natural recoil to travel to the head shots. Aiming at the head means you miss more.
