I was gonna write the post normally, but seeing how the whole point of being an ork is to role play, let's have at it! So I'z got dis 'ere rodeo shoota, and I gotz me big shoota. Dey both dakka gud, but da recoil'is 'ard ta manage! I'm aiming for 'ead shots, but da recoil misses a lot! If Any of you boyz can 'elp me wif me aiming, I'z sure gunna be 'appy!
Don't bother aiming with the Rodeo. If you don't use it for hipfiring, you are wasting most of its firerate. It's basically the ork version of a stormbolter. As for the Big Shootah... I have been contemplating whether or not I should just replace the Heavy Barrel with the Muzzle Break or simply outright remove the barrel as the damn thing has become nigh-uncontrollable since the increase in recoil.
About the don't aim thing.... It's hit or miss.. Personally I find aiming with the rodeo to be better than hip firing unless I'm so close to the target that I can melee them. As far as the big shoota..... You don't want my opinion on it... You'll get the most dakka out of a standard shoota with a drum mag and textured grip. 100 in the clip means you can just spray till your hearts content.
I don't play the orks all that much, but I did used to play Planetside 2. If big recoil weapons are anything resemblant of PS2 weapons, then I'd recommend becoming really good at fire control so you can abuse the gun's stats.
'Ipfires yer frend! Took mae aaages ta get out of tryin' ta aim. Pair it wiva da non-smart slab slugga so ya'z got sumfin dat dakkas fast an' sumfink da dakkas slower but 'itz 'arder! Oh, an' aim wiv ta pistol. Da reazon we'z got so much dakka wiv our gunz (Bein Orks asside.) Iz dat, acuracee is piss poor and yet likely to miss a fair bit. Don't use da kontrola, da rekoils best countered wiv da mouse!
Dats da SPIRIT!!! In my opinion nuffin beats a good well attached standard Shoota! Speshully wiv da Heavy Barrel (I fink I gots it at da 5,000 chest 2 patches Ago) which helps yer aim, and da Grip Dat Makes ye Aim betta' wen ya move! (5000 chest too I fink!) but if youz aiming for da weapon wiv much dakka da Big shoota dunt sound too bad too mostly because you can attach it wiv lots of da meks bitz and gubbins! but tis a bit pricey... Translation: Currently the Standard Shoota with attachments can give you most rapid fire capabilities you need and at a low cost (most of its useful attachments I found at the 5000 crate, but I could be wrong could someone please verify this?) but if you really want to push with the Big Shoota, vs Rodeo I suggest you select the former (big shoota) mostly because you can place attachments on it, but it's a bit pricey (I think its attachments start at the 12k boxes).
Basiks for da Dakka Add moar Dakka bitz when ya can Git da grip wit dem spiky bitz No tube, smooth tube, er holy tube Increase the clip if you can, the 80 round clip is plenty if you don't to spend a few more points for the drum Textured grip is the best, it reduces spread cone for sustained fire I have had success with no barrel, heavy, and the vertical recoil reducer. Leaning a bit more towards vertical recoil reducer as it looks awesome and helps keep aim level for sustained firing.
Just use the dead shiny shoota and aim it while strafing. Once you get good at head shots you down people just as fast as rodeo but from further away. Heavy barrel and bonus aim while moving grip are where its at.
My advice is keep trying and you'll get there. If you like the Rodeo Shoota it just takes a bit more time to learn to manage it's recoil and to get used to it's exact effective distance. For me it's the single most best weapon to use against melee as well as other shooters. It is capable to mow down most enemy loadouts with relative ease in a lot of situations, preferably very close quarters. It's my favorite weapon since pretty much the start because it felt good so I stuck with it and got used to it till the point when sometimes I don't succeed using other loadouts I can just use the one with the Rodeo Shoota and I'll manage most situations. Also I prefer to aim instead of hipfiring with it unless very, very up-close and moving. After reading further down Dicerson got's it exactly right.
I use the muzzle brake on my shoota... it has no downsides so far as I can tell. It makes your SIPS turn red (to indicate it's negatively affected), but doesn't actually change the value.
