I don't understand. I keep reading of people revering the poisoncapabilities and prowess of the Doc. As a slugga, as a shootah, as a lootah, I usually top the score charts, slaughtering marines and eldar left and right. But if I choose the Painboy and settle for a more supportive role, I instead find myself limping far behind anyone else in effectiveness, even using the Sicky Slugga I find myself wholly outperformed by Socerers, Warlocks and Apothecaries. I do not seem to deal meaningful damage and the healing is so damn awkward to use that I oftentimes target myself instead of the boy on the ground. What am I doing wrong? What can I do better? How do you make the Doc work? Also is the Dead Shiny Sicky Slugga worth using for 0.02 better recoil than the normal Sicky Slugga?
1) Currently the painboy is one of the worse parts of the orks. Mostly because he is not a melee specialist and the dbash is broken, so you cant retaliate your enemies with a fast attack after a dbash. 2) You dont get exp for the most important thing on the paiboy, the dok bomb wich are marvelous for holding points, that makes you be lower in the scores. 3) The ded shiny weapons and variants of other factions are currently bugged, they are supposed to have better stats but now they have no bonus for the cost they have.
If you're guarding the point with no one around except one team mate , shoot them a bunch until they're low on HP and the heal them. To improve them as a class over all i suggest adding the pain-klaw into game along with a painboy slugga that heals when you shot an ally
Well, you really didn't give us much examples to work with. 1. Equip Dok Bombs. 2. Stay with the boyz. 3. Stack hp. Concentrate on surviving and grazing as many people as possible with your Sicky Slugga - that prevents armor regen and generally annoying as hell. 4. Mod your 'urty syringe for poison. Engage in melee only if you're sure you can win, have no other choice, or when everyone is already busy. Shiv your target 2 times and move to the next one. You have Dok Bombs for healing. Concentrate on placing them right, and you're a true credit to the team, regardless of what the scoreboard says. You usually want one bomb on the point, or on the way to the point, if you're about to attack; any place where you have a group of boyz fighting or covering is good too. Try to place your bombs aboce the ground, so that PC or grenade spam won't get them by accident.
What if they could just quick stab a "dead" player and bring them back? Kinda like the defib paddles from medics in battlefield.
we sort of have that, if you use your heal on a downed ork it brings them back up at full health instead of at low health. Personally I've mained the painboy since launch, occasionally dipping into the other classes. Painboyz can absolutely rock enemies in melee if you manage to get the first hit in, which can happen more often than you think. Aside form dedicated assault builds with heavy weapons I can usually take on just about anyone one on one and have even managed some 1v2's in a few cases. Some improvements I would love to see: -doc bomb heals give exp, even if it's only a trickle this would instantly make them fare more popular to painboyz. I don't use them because any ork healed by them is one I can't heal myself for actual exp. -better healing mechanic with the urty syringe. Having orks run away is a pain, so I usually wack them with a melee attack to stun them and then heal them, which is funny but unneccessary. eldar and chaos being able to heal at range (and from behind cover) and without having to charge up is a significant advantage over ork/LSM healers. -more weapons, the klaw would definitely be a welcome addition, something else along with that would be good to. We have the smallest main hand weapon loadout of pretty much any class in the game as far as I can tell (that being no options at all aside from the default weapon).
I was wrecking people yesterday as my doc! ard armor, doc heal grenade thing and still have his starter weapons. Just be sure you have your doc bomb down...fast attack and dodge..A LOT. Doc has a pretty good side dodge and forward lung attack. Just try to stay in doc heal thing. Have to play it agile and sneaky likes...unlike my slugga who just wades in and wrecks face.
I'm talking they are a crispy fried corpse from a charged plasma shot. Then you waddle over prod him with a massive adrenaline fungal shot of fightin juice, restart his heart, and watch him go to town.
The only problem with Doks I see is two: 1. Not enough people with Dok Bombs 2. Not enough Dok players
I like playing the Docs, but it is a pain when everyone runs away from you. The doc bomb is just thankless support. A bit of XP would be much appreciated.
