The clip he heard is not from the movie, i made that, and it was designed for heavy bolter, not too fast and not too slow.
The sounds needs to be dramatic, like a car wreck. I actually think the space marine got it down pretty well for what I'd always imagined it like, so anything along those lines.
None of those bolters were on continuous fire. Those were all burst round/single shot. Watch the video more closely. Do you know how quickly a gun must shoot to eject 3-4 rounds with a single trigger pull? Fairly quickly, otherwise the firing mechanism would jam up if the trigger is pulled too quickly. It's funny, I remember everyone complaining about DoW 1's bolter because "The bolter isn't some automatic machine gun". Everyone hails the bolter from Firewarrior as the best repsentation of a bolter, and it is not automatic. EDIT I would like sources stating the bolter is an automatic weapon and I'll retract my statements. EDIT #2 Okay, so I did more digging, and I suppose it is capable of automatic fire. However, it is not usually fired in such a manner, so I mistook it for not having full auto. Still, I think it should fire like DoW 2 or Firewarrior.
I don't. The Bolter's rate of fire and bolts are much too slow in Fire Warrior. I'd say the Bolter in Space Marine is best representation so far. Well, all except for the destructive power of the bolts. There has yet to be a game/film where we see bolts that are as destructive as they are in the lore. Yes, many Bolters have a automatic fire mode. It does depend on the Bolter pattern. There are situations where you would probably want to switch your Bolter to full-auto. I disagree. I said something about this in another thread, but the equalization and mixing is off on that Heavy Bolter, it has no crisp explosion sound and delivers just a dull thud. It doesn't sound imposing or as startling as a gun A large caliber gun firing would be more appropriate than an amalgam of various sounds.
Not sure if this was posted earlier, but the Bolter in this sounds pretty sweet to me. I like how it changes as it's fired for longer. That kind of audio cue could be better than/go well with having a flashing RELOAD icon appear on your screen.
