I also agree, that Space marine was an excellent measure of the right amount of gore. Realistic but not implausible.
i will also say that SM did a good job on displaying the gore. But dont go overboard with it...*looking at fallout 3 with the bloody mess Perk*
I agree with you all also, Space Marine level of blood is good to aim for. We have to have blood splatter on our armor too! Just like in SM campaign...please. If thats all the servers can handle I'd be happy with that. But if they are able to handle a bit more, something along the lines of Gears of War style gore could be good. Always loved watching the effects of someone catching a 'boomshot' or 'grenade tag' and blowing up....chunks everywhere!
ideally.... small children should be traumatised, average players should be shocked, hardened/jaded players should be impressed
I would like lots of gore but not Fallout level of gore as that would be overboard, perhaps like space marine each weapon could have different levels of gore and a gore slider so if you have kids around you could make it a little more friendly
As long as you don't dismember them regularly then you should be able to just have an option for no blood. I'm not sure how you could make the executions less graphic though, warhammer isn't really kid friendly even without blood and gore.
I don't like gore on principle. Really we all ought to be taking pleasure from the simple things in life - watching the flowers grow and the seasons turn etc. I think the very idea that there should be any level of gore in a game is appaling. Eg in my 2010 study on gore and society, out of the 5billion 10 year old children I interviewed, 7 of them didn't like watching the brutal, hour long, real time murder scene I showed them. If that doesn't prove my point then then I am lost for reason. I suggest you all go bake a cranberry cake, like my wife did before she left me for that earring cleaner. Christ I've come over all emotional now, I'll leave it there, message me for details. Regards, Grot xxx
