The turning speed for the melta has already been nerfed to hell, that's why it's really hard to kill a moving target with them. Tacs and Traitors are absolutely killable, happens to me all the damn time, and I kill Traitors when I'm defending my rhino before they can blow it up. Hitting them with strong attack or d-bash will cut the stream and pretty much leave them screwed. FD are a lot harder to kill thanks to their gene-seed coming from Usain Bolt, apparently. This also applies to their turning speed when using the melta, which means they can actually kill troops with theirs from time to time as well. I'm betting if we saw a speed nerf for FD, and they upped the XP gain from driving/defending vehicles we would see some massive changes to how vehicles are treated
You mean the one that is usable by the most gimped class in the game when it comes to mobility and CQC?Pray tell us the sagas of destruction you have managed with that weapon !
A Kid could figure out that 3 sec TTK for a Person (<20sec Respawn) and 3 sec TTK for a Vehicle (5min Respawn) IS JUST STUPID. Look, I play as Orks and we don't have your Melta OPness but our TTK for a Vehicle, fits a lot more. We have to use 2 Sticky Nades and 3-4 Rockets whats about 15 sec to do. That gives the Vehicle Defenders at least a little Time to take care of the Attacker. Whilst when a Melta Attacks your Vehicle is blown up before you can move after exiting the Vehicle because of the Laggyness (Sound also) of the Game you often dont even notice a Melta. Say what you want, its just wrong that 1 Person can kill a Vehicle in 3sec END OF STORY
What is wrong is that people allow meltas near their vehicles.Or that they park their vehicles in a spot and expect them to last.
Why are we still defending this? 1. No one wants to perma drive a transport. No one. I don't care if they change it to give experience. What a fucking awful unfun gameplay experience. 2. Melta with a Meltabomb takes literally 3-4 seconds to do it's work. You can strafe while Meltaing and they are IGNORING ARMOR VALUES on Front and Sides. 3. Eldar and CSM both have the ability to have very fast moving Melta users. Suicide runs to a Transport are derp proof without 3-4 people guarding it like a hawk(which hey, look, 3-4 people are now unable to assault) 4. "But Melta can't kill infantry it's balanced" what a bullshit arguement. It's not like REDEPLOY is a thing. Spawn Melta, kill transport(s) redeploy as something more useful until they show up again. 5. "But they're ground troops, you have to survive to get there" Yeah, anyone who says this clearly hasn't seen a Melta user driving a tank around as a personal escort to get him to a vehicle to destroy then hop back in and cruise for more. It's bad gameplay. It feels bad. It makes assaulting maps like Maggon a fucking nightmare. All it takes is two suicide Meltabomb runs to kill a transport. Hell Eldar can do it in one go with double Meltabombs. Then we add Meltaguns on top? It's terrible.
