I've noticed one big difference between Eldar and LSM AV setups. The run speed advantage that Eldar possess mean that even if a WS is unpiloted (which btw is the only case you can use a melta on it or enjoy getting run over) their classes outside of DR can chase and melee you to interrupt you from getting a full burn while you're dancing around the vehicle to avoid them. This means that typically it takes 2 lives for a LSM melta setup to kill a vehicle while on FD I do it in a single life all the time.

Secondly, correct me if I'm wrong because I never bothered to unlock it, Eldar eventually get access to 2 meltabombs vs the LSM only having one equipped.

trying to melta an Eldar vehicle is so fucking hard. They are too damn quick.

Correct at double the LP cost. Not that it matters since melta bombs are for the most part completely useless.

Hmm? I wouldn't say they're useless. They save me having to use a 2nd full burn to kill a vehicle.

Anyways, my main point was that against Eldar you can't dance around vehicles to avoid them killing you. They either chase you and melee you to death or kill you from underneath the vehicle with bullets. As FD I can kite all day around Rhinos.

The second full burn is more LP efficent though as you'll still have enough juice to kill3-4 more vehicles. And you don't have to approach the vehicle or really deal with defenders. That freed up LP can go to ammo packs and armour upgrades as well as frags to clear out crew and points.

As the ones we have can't be thrown and have to be placed i'd say one on the weakest armor section should do the job to make up for getting right up next to it

I edited my original post so check it again. While I agree that there are benefits to freeing up the LP from removing it, you still have to deal with defenders unless you can get above the vehicle and fire down on it.

I feel like the main benefit of the meltabomb is that it reduces the amount of time you have to stay alive once you're at the vehicle. #secondsmatter

Grenades, Knives and pistols. It's bloody work but thats the life of an AV class. A FD can be caught out just as easily by two fresh spawns as any marine.
