Packing a lot of static defense? That's when they heavy duty killers come out to play, more lictors trying to get over the walls and etc. If we could do it with left 4 dead on a scale that it had with previous gen technology, surely it can be adapted to suit EC.
I am really hoping that the Nids who are challenging the strongest faction progress as that faction progresses. As was said before, the general swarm of Tyranids being thrown at a faction isn't supposed to be the smartest bunch. However, it would be nice to see the alien hive-mind race have more diversity in this game than in recent ones (DoWII). In other words, it would be great to see the most powerful faction at the time go up against a Nid horde that contained specific ways to defeat that faction based on the weaknesses of the faction, whatever they may be (maybe each race will automatically have a specific weakness when fighting tyranids?).
All I want from the Nids is flanking maneuvers. You could be having a fire fight with the eldar, then when they you stop firing you look around realize they legged it because they saw the 5 carnifexs coming up behind you!
The Tyrant Guard is now a Charger. And every time your hear that special "HURRRRRRRRRRRR" sounds coming from behind, your heart will stop for a second and you will think "Ah . . . fuck."
Was playing dead space 3 and it reminded me of how bloody creepy it was, get that vibe for the underworld.
It would be cool if instead of just rolling over the strongest team and knocking them down a bunch, the Tyranids slowly progress in difficulty to the point where 75% or more of that races entire population is required to combat them. That way the race would be forced to deal with the Tyranid while the other teams claim what they have left defenseless. For AI i want the gaunts to run at me without any thoughts other than staying in packs.I dont know the all too much about the Tyranids lore but there should also be specific Tyranid types that can create spawn points for gaunts. If not spawn points, then tunnels such as the gorge in Natural Selection 2. NS2 is a perfect model for Tyranids if you just increased the amount of Skulks per enemy.
