So as Eternal Crusade is a mix of MMO and a 3rd-person shooter, how much customisation/ progression should there be for your character? I would love the devs to pack this game as full of small skill upgrades & aesthetic changes as they can - progress is a hugely important part of 40k lore. E.g. an ork progresses from a green skin barely bigger than a man to a " black ork", which can be taller than a space marine, even growing into a behemoth like Ghazghkul if they live long enough. Even CSM's go through many changes, as the dark gods favour them more they develop demonic mutations & it would be awesome to see these changes in your character as they lvled up (perhaps in the form of a tentacle or two...) So are you guys eager to see this level of change in your chars as you level up or would you prefer that dev time was more heavily spent on getting combat speed and balance tuned just right?
Yes, i want to feel like a contributing member to my faction, rising through the ranks and being rewarded for team based play with things like terminator honors and the ability to be a huge Nob. This way there is more replay-ability and the better gear is being rewarded not to people who pay the most or get the most kills, but contribute the most to their faction.
Actually we got a response regarding this, we will start of as regular marines for example lets take a space marine, you will look like a regular scrub, and as you play with him you will be able to add purity seals and the like, customizing him more and more.
Character customization is my favorite part. ;o Each and every individual is a unique person. He has a right to show off his personality. I want my kawaii farseers.
right, cosmetically. what about skills? will your shot group get tighter as you level? will you reload faster? can you gan resistance to psychic powers or even become a psychic?
Araghast's personality should include a lot of portal opening, Eldar abuse and brushing teeth with a chainsword.
I just hope they don't go down the road of "new players are just as good as veterans". With that said, I really hope they add perks and such to make you a little stronger than when you start out. I understand the reasoning behind not giving older players an advantage; at the same time if someone who just starts the game is just as powerful as someone who's been playing the game for a while, then what's the point of progression? So yeah I would like reloading faster, or being able to take more punishment/stronger armor. Especially since in Warhammer 40k Astartes are able to upgrade to artificer armor or iron halos which make them even more resilient, but also represent their age and status within their respective chapter. So why should a freshly recruited Astartes be able to take out a Chaos Marine who's existed since the Horus Heresy? The CSM is over 10,000 years old and has significantly more combat experience than the fresh Astartes. I really wish for that kind of age and skill gap to exist and be represented. But that's just my opinion.
