I suddenly thought about something. I was looking at the Orks on Armageddon thread and I saw there was still 4 million Orks or something there. Then I saw the intial troop deployment with hundreds upon hundreds of Warbands. Surely, no Ork would miss out on this and if they did so, they'd be enraged surely. Then I thought, well how would this battles epic stories and rumours be heard across the Ork races? I'm imagining a couple of hundred Orks that part from Armageddon and tell on the story, but that would mean each Ork battle lives on in Tales that's told by surviving Orks. Think about it. Seriously.

The way I understood how these things worked was it had something to do with WAAAGH! energy. The more boyz you have in one place, and the more they enjoy a fight, the more WAAAGH! energy becomes concentrated in a place. Orks are instinctually attracted to large concentrations of WAAAGH! energy, so they just know where a good fight is, even if they can't say why they know.
In the comic Deff Skwadron they have messenger squigs with wings. It's been a while since I read it so I might be forgetting the actual purpose of that squig.
How do wez know where ta go for fighting? Cuz wez do. Cuz wez Orks. Anyfink else? (to answer your question its basically word of mouth/WAAAGH!!! energy although i'd imagine ork empires having some sort of simple planet to planet communication system. And then theirs weird boyz. I forget if they can communicate physically.)
