Let me introduce myself. I am Tankred, and this Dreadnought is my home. Welcome to the GUN SHOW. While I'm compelled to honor the largest ship of the Black Templars, the Eternal Crusader, I must hold a compassion for the Dreadnought armor as near and dear to my heart as the cybernetic life support keeping me alive. Please tell me what master pieces out of the Adeptus Mechanicus draw your endearments. Heretic and Xenos productions will be incinerated on sight! -Tankred's Optics shut down as slumber begins- So, tell us how you PURGE View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mcMjjiWTLk
I have to ask, is the Dreadnought considered a vehicle? From other perspectives, it is a walking sarcophagus with arms, a mech-suit or even a stasis pod with guns. I would like to walk around in a Dreadnought... if only they had a smaller version, for indoors. Otherwise, a predator tank... that is also not on the list.
Dreadnought is not a vehicle, it's more of a mobile life-support battle platform with the remains of a space marine inside, who controls it. A walking cyborg sarcophagus. Definitely not a vehicle But yes, dreadnoughts rule =)
A Dreadnought is as much a vehicle as it is a life support system . I consider a Titan as well as (if anyone remembers these guys) Gundams as vehicles. Mechanized transportation ^_^ I have to say that my word cannot count for much because I forgot Predators of all things! -edit I wanted to add a response to Ardenstrom without double posting ^_^ Being the lesser party, I'll accept that I can be wrong. However, I'll still hold my opinion true in my own right and share a mutual love for Dreadnoughts anyway.
Calling it a vehicle is not entirely accurate, since we call a "vehicle" something that is used for any kind of transportation of people, cargo, etc. Something that "gets in" and "gets out" of the machine, the machine itself being just a transport. Dreadnought is not a transport for obvious reasons Besides, we classify vehicles as something that we can control through steering. The dreadnought is not being steered, since the space marine inside IS the dreadnought itself through cybernetic connection with it. For example your body, that you control, is not a vehicle (for many other reasons, of course. There are no wheels) even though it has a "motor" and you are controlling it through electric signals running through your nerves. Besides, we usually call a vehicle something that has wheels, skis or tracks =) Well, anyway, I love dreadnoughts - they are powerful and purely awesome, plus each one of them can tell many stories like a Venerable Dreadnought As for the vehicles.. Bikes have always been my favorites, love them
You've explained in detail valid points. My train of thought revolved around "whether it's diesel, hydraulic, or other machinery and transports people, call it a vehicle". Stating that no passenger leaves the dreadnought was enough to discern my mistake. Like perceiving a Dreadnought as a vehicle, I made this thread I was negligent to add the Predator or even Speed Bikes! (let me send one out to Ravenwing of the Dark Angels!) Now I'm debating remaking this thread with a proper poll... -edit I meant to say Land Speeders instead of Speed Bikes ^_^
