A long, long time ago, in 1987 or 88, while looking for some new AD&D mods for my gaming group I came across the Rogue Trader hardcover. The rest is history. T
I was first introduced into Warhammer 40k through Space Marine Epic around '95...hooked ever since... Because it's the base for a sci-fi TT tactical game...no fun collecting miniatures of military personnel, piloting a UAV on a monitor...you need some flavor to make it good... Many things don't make sense in any sci-fi setting, if you want to actually go look for them...If it is fun, why bother?
I'm sorry, but I need to do as much nitpicking as possible. For example, in Star Wars, why does all the armor look like plastic? There's no fucking way that protects the Storm Troopers from anything, all it does is hinder their vision and movement. That's why they can't handle a group of misfits and their pet robots whereas a small tactical squad of present day soldiers would have easily neutralized them.
because its "space plastic" that can deflect lasers if your lucky, and protect you from other minor things like getting scratched by thorny plants and might even possibly be water proof...I dont know lol special effects werent really that "special" back in 1977, so it looked good at the time
It is made from Plastoid Composite which in theory is similar to ceramite (not as effective but the same idea but with plastic) which makes it super effective against physical attacks (lightsabers are an exception) although this idea was bent for story purposes when retarded teddy bears used spears and rocks to slaught the most "elite" soldiers in the Empire...
But it's SCIENCE FICTION...it's supposed to be exaggerated and not making any sense in real life conditions...
games workshop mall store. I was into the table top, but I was young and just into collecting and painting really
Was like 10, went to local GW store cause I walked past it once, got some marines painted them badly but never really played. Eventually DOW 1 came out and a flood of memories came back to me when I seen the game. Started talking to some of my friends about it and we all got small armies at the same time. We all play on Wednesday now , just because of alliteration "Warhammer Wednesdays." I also got them into the books too. Man GW should employ me I gave them a new customers that would never of been interested had I not told them about it.
Got started in the 7th Grade when I began reading the Space Wolves Omnibus which I still feel is an excellent introduction into the WH40K universe
