Ork speech is kind of just a cockney english accent, idk ask a brit about it. I'm pretty sure the concept behind the orks heavy speech came from the some english thugs that the guys at games workshop had to deal with or like the stereotype of a big british hard knock.
I'll tell you what, it's a lot less of a strain to listen to it as opposed to reading it. It always takes some brain power to figure out what was typed. Fortunately it's usually about krumpin' things or who we're gonna smash so you can just skim over it.
Me iz not an natif inglish speeka'. I think reading isn't really difficult - but writing is taking some amount of time. For a non-native speaker, it's quiet difficult to spot things with whom you can make things seem 'orky'. Not sure if I'm over-using it, either, but I guess as long as it sounds wierd, guttural and funny, it works. Spelling it out surely sounds faboulus.
The thing with Ork speak which non-English speakers/second language speakers may not understand fully is that Ork speak is a part of 40k fandom it's the same as CoD fans spouting martyr memes or Star Wars fans speaking to each other in the DV voice. People who come from the TT community and to a lesser extent the recently developed Video Game community will get together and use Ork speak. It might be messy but it's less roleplay and more just a social/cultural convention found amongst Ork-'Eadz
I can't wait to see jow many of uz orks try to speak ork speak during a battle lol..... (Scene one) Ork boy on machine gun:.............*trys to type in ork for 2 minutes while SMs are charging*.... Ork Nob: ORK WDF SHOOT THE SMS ALREADY!!!! Ork boy on machine gun:..... Day arez comin in dem big machines with big dakka....wez need to killz dem! Ork Nob: They already in the base and are taking it you noob....
I'm ok with short sentences in 'ork slang' and have no problems with understanding it, but I skip big texts of that nonsense no matter what language it'd be written - some fans use their native languages to imitate ork speech - it's too boring.
U'z sum borin' Boy. An' stiffy. What'z em poind wiff bein' Green, if not foar funz zake? We'z gonna die in drauwz, bettah be dyin' in style!
I've got no problem spelling Orkish and typing Orkish, but I can see where some non-English speakers might have a problem with comprehending/typing it out themselves.. As far as my usage of it will go in this game, Ork speak will prolly be saved for in-character interaction, or for OOC shenanigans.
