I'm curious to know as we have many posts written in 'Ork Speak' for example: "I iz gunna be ah sneakin' git wot slits pansie froats" Is this any more difficult to read for those folks who don't speak English as a first language? Do people find it off putting or is it fairly easy to pick up?
when people post like that i find it hard to understand it but that's just me ,however if some people could loose the "ork speak" when not in RP forums or when proposing stuff it would be nice.
yes there is a lot of difficult but is not impossibile. the easy part is the "orky" word like "grot" "git" "stomping" the hardest part is the pronunciation alteration.
Waz diz englis ya talk abot ya git? Sorry, nevermind. As a non-native english speaker, I would say it takes time but after a while it catches on. I still have to spend around 2.5 times more time reading ork-speak than english, but it isn't that simple since there is no "real" way to speak it. Which of course is nice since that way there are lots of dialects for orkish ^^
I'm not a native speaker of English, but can still understand Orkz (around 80% of the time). As a pure text, Orkspeak may often look strange, but if you consider how it would sound phonetically, it doesn't take much effort to understand.
Im a non native english speakers, but i still can read Ork Stuff, at the same time as normal english speakers, so no diference for me
