How can we integrate TEQs, Dreadnoughts, Bikes tactically into EC?

it's not a melta problem: melta work as intended.
if a vehicles go in melta range in an urban zone full of covers and exposed to flank why the vehicle should survive?

    Maps are the problem.

    Oh yeah.

Right now, the maps are designed to de-fang vehicles. That's how we get a Predator with insufficient firepower in urban settings. What we need are
    * maps that are more friendly to vehicles
    * less vehicles, stronger vehicles

If we had maps where Dreadnoughts can see the enemy coming... if we had maps where bikes can do drive-by shootings...

Then the vehicles need a big buff in devastating firepower to account for the fact they can be taken out by a single person. The top gun should kill in one shot, side guns a few shots, and on the transports too, vehicles should totally murder foot troops.

Dreadnoughs and eq could work if used only on fortress maps, the fortress maps are big enough and it makes sense to deploy them to assault a fortified place, just like vindicator right now
  5. Dreadnaughts will die way too quickly! It's not just a map design problem, anyone in a rhino or equivalent could travel straight across even an open map, jump out of the rhino, melta the dread in seconds and be away again, or even if it was a suicide run it would be worth it.

We also keep saying that various things are map design problems and not a problem with the weapon/class/game mechanic but we've been saying that since Alpha started and nothing has changed, every map has the exact same problems.

I think it's time to accept that we are not going to be getting any different maps that address these problems due in part to their modular design. It's time to start balancing things based on the map types we have now because if the devs wanted them to change they have had ample opportunity to do it already.

This thread won't be relevant for like another year (if the game is still alive and well)

Speaking of drop pods - it would be neat if respawn actually came in form of drop pod, so it would gib anyone spawncamping.

TEQ are about to be released in less then 3 months.
There are currently works on the bikes behind the scenes as well.
Only big walkers are out of the foreseeable future.

The problem is that bE designed the game in way that infantry is the unit-type with the highest kill-potential. Which totally contradicts how it works in actual wars. In WWI, the majority of soldiers died in artillery-bombardments.

In Tabletop-WH40k, we take Predators and Dreadnoughts because they are tougher and have more firepower than infantry. They are better and rarer than infantry.
But in EC-WH40k, vehicles are WEAKER and rarer than infantry. On many maps, tanks are just cannonfodder to distract the enemy, because they lack kill-potential.

Another example: The pintle-Stormbolter on the Rhino. I fired with that thing on a single Ork for almost 5 seconds and he simply walked away. What is the point of that weapon if it cannot protect the Rhino against a single infantry-man????????

I dont think melta is working, beacuse if one person can beat a large amount of rhinos whats the point of entire antivehicles squads in the tabletop, i mean, they are at least five, they have to roll the dice, and maybe fails, but in EC one person can go from one rhino to another and ruin all the game mechanics just by the fact you only have 2 rhinos each 5 min ( just an example: defenders in medusa)

I have tried with a teammate to stop dragons, and maybe you can kill one, but spamming a antivehicles every 15 secs makes them want to kamikaze everytime, and its impossible to have your rhino save, even if you are driving like crazy to hide them.

Its very simple, you crash with the vehicle, go down, and melta. If you die, no problem, 15 secs and try again, if you win, they are fucked 5 min without rhino...¿is this balance?

what i would want is less damge to vehicles in fusion weapons, and another one shot mode to work as heat shotgun in closed quarters.
