A bunch of people are asking how campaigns work and what are the rules so I figured I'd hop in here a give a quick summary. This way there will be a dev quote that people can point to and no one needs to speculate. What are campaigns? Campaigns are a way for you to earn Faction Rogue Trader Credits by winning matches for your faction. What is Faction RTC? Faction RTC is special RTC that can only be spent by characters of a certain faction. How can a faction win a campaign? All a faction needs to do is win a certain number of matches before the timer runs out and that faction will be considered as winning. There are no other factors. How can I participate and earn free RTC? You are always participating in the campaign for the faction you are currently playing. If you win a match that will start filling the progress bar for that character. Once you're won enough matches you qualify for the reward. Can I earn RTC on multiple characters? You can earn faction RTC from each of the four ongoing campaigns but you can only earn once per faction. You are encouraged to play a character from each faction, this will earn you the most. How many matches does a faction need to win in order to win the campaign? This is determined based on the past history of the faction. Different factions require a different number of wins. This is to account for the population imbalance between factions. How many matches do I need to win? The UI shows you how a progress bar of how many matches you need to win. The number will change depending on how long the campaign is. There is no need to log in every day. You must only surpass the wins threshold before the timer runs out. So win once a night or get all your wins on the weekend, it's up to you. I think that covers all of the questions people have been asking me but I will try and answer other questions in here if it turns out I forgot a big one.
Thanks Noah. Btw we could use an API to get the campaign scores by faction in real time, so we could make a webpage about scores
So...every faction has the ability to win at the same time, because it's based on some win quota and not who has the most (either absolute or proportionate). Everybody's a winner! Everyone gets a trophy! Here's your participation certificate, let's hop in the van and go get pizza! Are campaigns ever going to have an actual effect on gameplay, i.e. bonuses for objectives like holding a specific map more often than or not?
Can you get a total of 3500 RTC and 35000 REQ from completing both tasks. Winning 10 games and filling the bar before time runs out? Also thanks for finally talking about it, you guys need to communicate more.
So basically, you could have just called them dailies or weeklies and it would amount to the same thing...
Are there any chances for faction unique objectives or anything that isn't win x matches like right now???
So it's not a zero sum game, but that's not the worst thing, considering how tilted the matchmaker giving large disadvantages way too often.
